US companies hiring remotely in Brazil pay $60,000 to $120,000+, which is highly competitive in the Brazilian cost-of-living context. The timezone advantage is significant: Brazilian Eastern time (BRT) is only 1 to 3 hours behind US Eastern time, enabling real-time collaboration. Senior professionals should note that Brazilian CLT employment includes extensive benefits that significantly increase employer cost.
The CLT vs. PJ (Pessoa Juridica) decision is critical. CLT employment provides full labor protections and benefits but at higher cost and lower flexibility. PJ (working as a legal entity/contractor) offers higher net income but fewer protections. Many remote roles for international companies use PJ or EOR arrangements.
