Fraud analysis at the analyst and senior analyst level is competitive in markets with large financial services and fintech sectors, because the function has grown rapidly and the training pathway is accessible. The Head of Fraud Prevention, VP of Fraud Risk, and Director of Financial Crime level is a different market. These roles require professionals who have designed fraud detection strategies, owned the fraud model governance process, managed the operational tradeoffs between fraud prevention and customer friction, and built the cross-functional relationships with product, engineering, compliance, and customer experience teams that make fraud programs effective without degrading legitimate customer journeys. That strategic and organizational scope is not widely available, and companies with growing digital fraud exposure consistently find the senior pool thinner than their needs.
