The PHP ecosystem has normalized remote work faster than some enterprise languages because the open source community that has shaped modern PHP development, the Laravel community in particular, is globally distributed and remote-first in its culture. Senior PHP engineers working for US and European SaaS companies while based in Eastern Europe, Latin America, or Southeast Asia represent a significant and growing segment of the remote PHP market.
