Technical leads and solution architects with .NET depth are in persistent demand at Microsoft partners and independent software vendors, which tend to hire remotely at rates above average for enterprise software.
Framework version clarity is the primary filter. Engineers who have worked with both .NET Framework 4.x and .NET Core or .NET 5-plus but describe their experience generically often fail automated screening at companies that have already completed migration to modern .NET. Azure integration specificity is a second filter: senior .NET engineers with cloud experience who describe it in generic terms rather than specific service terms (Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, Cosmos DB) are frequently deprioritized.
