Senior Data Engineer / Data Engineering Technical Lead

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer / Data Engineering Technical Lead with strong hands-on experience in Snowflake, dbt, Python, data warehousing, and ETL.

The role will provide technical guidance for data engineering projects, contribute to solution design and implementation, establish development standards, and collaborate with engineering and project teams to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Solution Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data engineering solutions using Snowflake, dbt, Python, and ETL technologies.
• Develop and Eligible to workimize data pipelines supporting data ingestion, transformation, integration, and reporting requirements.
• Design and implement data warehouse solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Analyze technical requirements and recommend appropriate data engineering approaches.
• Support data modeling, transformation, data quality, and performance Eligible to workimization activities.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical guidance and solutions to data engineering team members.
• Define, advocate, and implement appropriate coding standards, development practices, and engineering best practices.
• Conduct technical reviews of data engineering solutions, code, and implementations.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and potential implementation challenges.
• Evaluate technical alternatives and recommend appropriate solutions based on project requirements.
• Break down complex technical requirements into manageable components and provide development estimates.

Team Development

• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to data engineering team members.
• Support team members in improving technical capabilities and development practices.
• Encourage consistent implementation of established data engineering standards.
• Collaborate with project and engineering leadership to address technical challenges and improve delivery effectiveness.

Architecture & Technical Consulting

• Participate in technical discussions, solution reviews, and feasibility assessments.
• Evaluate technical alternatives, tools, frameworks, and implementation approaches.
• Contribute to data architecture and engineering best practices.
• Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, analysts, and project stakeholders to ensure alignment between technical solutions and project requirements.

Process, Quality & Delivery

• Ensure assigned technical activities follow established development and delivery processes.
• Support code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
• Monitor technical deliverables and help address issues that may affect project timelines or quality.
• Support resolution of technical escalations and project risks.

Project Reporting

• Prepare and communicate technical status updates.
• Track project deliverables, risks, dependencies, and technical issues.
• Escalate significant technical risks or blockers through established project governance processes.
• Provide technical input for project planning, estimates, and delivery tracking.

Required Qualifications

• Professional experience in Data Engineering or a closely related technical field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt.
• Strong programming experience with Python.
• Experience designing and developing ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts, architecture, and data modeling.
• Experience with data transformation and integration processes.
• Ability to analyze technical requirements and translate them into scalable data engineering solutions.
• Experience with technical troubleshooting, performance Eligible to workimization, and data quality practices.
• Experience participating in technical design discussions and code reviews.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working as a Senior Data Engineer, Data Engineering Lead, Technical Lead, or similar role.
• Experience providing technical guidance to other data engineers.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern data stack technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD and version-control practices for data engineering.
• Experience with data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
• Experience working in Agile or structured software-development environments.
