This is a remote position.

Join us at Shuru as we look for a proactive and people-oriented Associate HRBP to work closely with our HR Business Partner and founding team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll support employee experience, HR Operations, engagement initiatives, and help build scalable people processes in a fast-growing startup.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Employee Engagement & Experience
• Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives, celebrations, birthdays, work anniversaries, outings, and team activities.
• Explore and implement creative ideas to enhance employee experience and engagement.
• Support employee touchpoints, feedback initiatives, and culture-building activities.
• Research and explore new ideas to continuously improve employee experiences.

2. HR Operations
• Support onboarding, exits, employee documentation, benefits, and other employee lifecycle processes.
• Maintain accurate employee records, trackers, and HR-related data.
• Ensure recurring HR processes and timelines are completed accurately and on time.
• Identify process gaps and suggest ways to improve efficiency and employee experience.

3. Research, Vendors & Execution
• Conduct thorough research for employee initiatives, gifting, events, vendors, and other HR requirements.
• Understand requirements, evaluate options, compare vendors, and recommend suitable solutions.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders from initial discussions through execution and closure.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure timely follow-ups and deliverables.
• Take end-to-end ownership of assigned initiatives with minimal follow-up.

4. Employee Communication & HR Projects
• Act as an approachable point of contact for routine employee queries and HR-related communication.
• Communicate HR initiatives, policies, benefits, and updates clearly and effectively.
• Support the HRBP on ongoing HR projects and gradually take ownership of assigned initiatives.
• Coordinate end-to-end execution, follow-ups, and closure of assigned projects.

5. HR Data, AI & Innovation
• Support data collection, reporting, and basic analysis across HR initiatives.
• Maintain basic Excel/Google Sheets trackers and reports.
• Explore AI tools for content creation, communication, presentations, posters, research, and brainstorming.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve existing HR processes.
• Bring creative and innovative ideas to the HR function.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in HR, People Operations, Employee Experience, or a related role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills with an ability to understand requirements and find the right solutions.
  • Proactive, organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking end-to-end ownership.
  • A strong learner who is curious, adaptable, and open to feedback.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Basic proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and working with data.
  • Tech-savvy, with hands-on experience or interest in AI tools.
  • Empathetic, approachable, creative, and solution-oriented.
  • Someone who takes ownership, follows through on commitments, and ensures timely closure of responsibilities.
