Job description

This is a remote position.

Shuru provides on-demand product leadership and full-cycle software development services to help businesses unlock growth through AI, automation, and digital product innovation. Our clients trust us to solve high-stakes technology challenges-from modernising legacy systems to building new products from scratch.

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, strategic Senior Finance & Accounting Manager to build and scale Shuru’s finance backbone. This role is critical to ensuring timely and accurate financial operations, compliance, and reporting as we grow across geographies and service lines. You will lead core accounting functions, drive automation and systems implementation, and provide visibility into financial performance to guide decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly close process (target: T+7), including preparation of P&L by service line/project, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.

  • Lead accounting operations: chart of accounts, billing, AR/AP, cash management, payroll oversight, and fixed assets.

  • Design and implement revenue recognition policies (ASC 606 / IFRS 15) for T&M, fixed-fee, and managed services contracts.

  • Oversee compliance calendar: tax filings, payroll obligations, audits, statutory reporting, and internal controls.

  • Manage multi-entity, multi-currency accounting, including consolidations and intercompany transactions.

  • Prepare management reporting packs: KPIs (DSO, backlog, utilisation, margins), board updates, and investor-ready dashboards.

  • Drive system migrations (ERP/PSA/Accounting) and streamline end-to-end processes across Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay.

  • Develop and manage internal policies: approval matrix, maker-checker controls, role-based access, and documentation of SOPs.

  • Liaise with external advisors: tax consultants, auditors, payroll bureaus, and compliance specialists.

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with a mix of Big 4 or public accounting and in-house roles at IT services or consulting firms. Expertise in US GAAP and IFRS, project-based accounting, and managing multi-currency and multi-entity operations.
  • Must have completed CA (Chartered Accountant) course.
  • Proven experience in revenue recognition (ASC 606/IFRS 15) and setting up scalable accounting processes.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing finance systems (ERP, PSA, billing, etc.) and improving operational efficiency.
  • Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills; exposure to tools like Zoho Books/Finance, or similar.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable rolling up sleeves while building and leading a high-performing finance team.

Benefits

  • Be a foundational member shaping the finance function at a high-growth tech company.

  • Work closely with leadership across operations, product, and delivery.

  • Own systems and policies from the ground up with room to scale.

  • Competitive compensation, flexible work setup, and a collaborative, ownership-driven culture.
