We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for students, graduates, and professionals with strong backgrounds in physics, chemistry, mathematics, or biology.
This role supports analytical, modelling, and problem-solving work across a range of STEM topics. Selected contributors will apply quantitative reasoning, scientific knowledge, and structured thinking to open-ended and interdisciplinary tasks, while communicating solutions clearly and precisely.
Key Responsibilities
Scientific Problem Solving
-
Analyse technical and scientific problems across physics, chemistry, mathematics, or biology
-
Apply structured reasoning to reach accurate and well-supported conclusions
-
Break complex problems into clear and manageable steps
-
Evaluate alternative approaches where multiple solution paths are possible
-
Maintain high standards of accuracy and logical consistency
Quantitative Analysis & Modelling
-
Apply quantitative methods appropriate to the relevant STEM domain
-
Work with mathematical models, calculations, and data-driven reasoning where required
-
Interpret numerical results and assess whether they are scientifically reasonable
-
Identify assumptions, constraints, and relevant variables within analytical tasks
-
Support modelling and analytical workflows across interdisciplinary problems
Domain-Specific Research
-
Apply academic or professional knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
-
Physics

Biology
-
Interpret technical concepts and scientific information accurately
-
Connect theoretical knowledge with practical problem-solving
-
Work across unfamiliar or interdisciplinary topics when required
-
Use appropriate scientific terminology and conventions
Technical Communication
-
Explain solutions in clear, concise, and logically organised language
-
Document reasoning and calculations in a way that can be independently reviewed
-
Communicate complex scientific ideas accurately without unnecessary ambiguity
-
Produce high-quality written outputs suitable for analytical and research workflows
-
Adapt explanations to the level of complexity required by each task
Independent Analytical Work
-
Work independently on structured and open-ended assignments
-
Manage research and problem-solving tasks with limited supervision
-
Check outputs for accuracy, completeness, and internal consistency
-
Apply sound judgement when information is incomplete or multiple interpretations are possible
-
Deliver reliable work within project guidelines and deadlines
Ideal Profile
-
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, or another closely related STEM discipline, or currently pursuing such a degree
-
At least 1 year of relevant academic, research, internship, or industry experience
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
