Certified Public Accountant – Bookkeeping & Accounting Support

Location: Fully remote (open to candidates outside the U.S.) | Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary

Seeking a Certified Public Accountant with a strong bookkeeping background to support the day-to-day accounting operations of our small and medium-sized business clients. This role owns core bookkeeping functions — reconciliations, payroll support, accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, and month-end close — for a portfolio of clients, working remotely and collaborating daily in English with a U.S.-based team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping operations for a portfolio of small and medium-sized business clients.

• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

• Support payroll processing, including reviewing entries for accuracy and timeliness.

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, bill pay, and collections follow-up.

• Prepare and review financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for client and internal review.

• Oversee month-end close for assigned clients, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.

• Maintain accurate, audit-ready records across QuickBooks Online and other client accounting systems.

• Flag discrepancies, unusual transactions, or process gaps to management proactively.

• Communicate directly with U.S.-based team members and, as needed, clients, in English.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience supporting bookkeeping operations for small and medium-sized businesses.

• Strong command of bookkeeping fundamentals: bank reconciliations, payroll support, AP/AR, and financial reporting.

• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online; ability to learn new accounting platforms quickly.

• Prior experience working remotely for a U.S.-based company.

• Professional written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting multiple clients simultaneously in an outsourced or multi-client accounting environment.

• Familiarity with U.S. GAAP as applied to small-business financial reporting.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position. Standard working hours overlap with U.S. business hours to support daily collaboration with the team and, where applicable, client calls.
