Job description

Company Overview

Our client bids on and wins US state and federal government contracts. This role supports the client’s contracting strategy by owning the bid execution process, maintaining compliance, and improving throughput and quality over time.

Your Role

As an RFP / Government Contracting Specialist, you’ll run government proposal submissions from intake through final submission. This is not a “fill in the blanks” role—you’ll own deadlines, formats, and compliance requirements; coordinate internal stakeholders; and write/assemble proposals that respond directly to government evaluation criteria.

You’ll partner closely with internal teams to gather accurate inputs, shape clear answers, and continuously improve the process so the client gets faster and more consistent over time.

You’ll:

Government RFP intake, coordination, and submission management
  • Identify and intake new government contracting opportunities (monitor procurement portals and bid sources)

  • Run end-to-end government proposal submissions (intake → drafting → reviews → final submission)

  • Own timelines, deadlines, formats, and compliance requirements so nothing slips

  • Drive follow-ups with internal stakeholders to unblock inputs, answers, and approvals

  • Maintain version control and deliver polished, compliant final submissions

  • Work within government process constraints: communication is primarily through written questions and formal proposal submissions (no direct outreach to government contacts)

Writing, editing, and response quality
  • Dissect large government RFP packages (often extensive documentation) and translate requirements into a clear response plan

  • Draft accurate responses aligned to solicitation requirements and evaluation criteria

  • Edit for clarity, structure, and compliance—without overselling or adding risk

Content library + process improvement
  • Build and maintain reusable proposal content (standard answers, past performance language, compliance checklists)

  • Capture learnings and improve the process (what repeats, what wins/loses, what slows the team down)

  • Support the client’s contracting strategy by helping track key inputs (e.g., renewal timelines and prior contract context when available)

You Bring:

  • Hands-on experience bidding on US state and/or federal government contracts (required)

  • Experience navigating government procurement portals and bid submission workflows

  • Experience with government contracting processes, including proposal compliance and (where applicable) contract negotiation support

  • Strong writing, editing, and structured-thinking skills (turn messy inputs into crisp, compliant answers)

  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and version control habits

  • Comfort coordinating cross-functionally and driving follow-ups without becoming the bottleneck

  • Ability to ship reliably under deadline pressure

  • Strong English communication skills

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with both state and federal contracting (or multiple procurement portals)

  • Familiarity with proposal / knowledge-base tooling and maintaining reusable content libraries

  • Enjoy building repeatable systems and improving how work gets done

What’s Offered:

  • Fully remote work environment

  • Competitive compensation (based on experience)

  • High-impact role with visibility across the business

  • Opportunity to build scalable government-contracting proposal operations and content systems

Interview Process

1️⃣ Intro conversation with recruiting team

2️⃣ Hiring manager interview (role discussion + expectations)

3️⃣ Practical writing / proposal assessment (clarity, structure, accuracy)

4️⃣ Final conversation with team and leadership
