Job Title: Senior Backend Developer & Automation Specialist

Location: Full-time, Remote (Nearshore candidates preferred)

Company: U.S.-based organization

Work Schedule: 44 hours per week, Monday–Friday; weekends off; PTO included

A U.S.-based managed service provider (MSP) delivers a range of IT and technology

infrastructure solutions, including managed IT services, systems integration, and security

related technologies. The organization values practical, user-friendly technology solutions

The company is hiring a full-time remote contractor for the role of Senior Backend

Developer & Automation Specialist. The position focuses on building backend systems,

automation workflows, and integrations that connect internal platforms with third-party

vendor APIs.

What You'll Do

• Develop backend services and integrate APIs using Go (preferred) or Python

Example Projects

• Build and maintain automation workflows in n8n using JavaScript, Python, and SQL

• Create integrations between internal systems and third-party vendor APIs

• Parse and transform data from emails, webhooks, and external systems

• Contribute to AI/LLM-powered projects (chat agents, prompt engineering, document

processing)

• Document system interfaces, data flows, and integration architecture

• Train an AI chat agent on internal data to recommend the correct expense accounts for

receipts

• Monitor an inbox for vendor status updates (ordered, shipped, delivered) and

automatically update purchase orders

• Pull data from hosted APIs with inventory/product information to update our ERP system

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Go or Python for backend development

• Experience building automation workflows in n8n (JavaScript/Python/SQL)

• Strong REST API integration skills (JSON/XML payloads, webhooks, OAuth)

• Basic Bootstrap HTML knowledge (minimal front-end work as this role is backend

focused)

• Git & GitHub proficiency

• Ability to document integrations, data payloads, and system architecture

• Clear written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)

• RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) patterns and vector databases (Pinecone,

Chroma, Weaviate)

• HaloPSA, Microsoft Graph API, Avigilon Alta API, Xero API

• Hatz AI, Dify, or similar LLM orchestration platforms

• Supabase or similar backend-as-a-service platforms

• Experience in MSP/ITSM environments
