Application Developer

This is a remote position.

The Contingent Plan is actively recruiting an experienced PowerBuilder Developer / Programmer for its client based in the Twin Cities. This is a W2, temporary assignment that is expected to last 12 months. The role is remote, but our client prefers candidates in the Minnesota, WI, IA, SD, or ND area. Candidates outside of that area will only be considered if they are a perfect fit for the role.

Compensation is competitive and depends on experience. Sorry, there is no sponsorship available for the assignment. This is an immediate need and our client will move quickly with the right candidates.

Responsibilities:

• Work with client staff and business partners to clear backlog of maintenance and support tickets for PowerBuilder applications, as tracked through Jira
  
• Troubleshoot legacy PowerBuilder application issues and work with tech lead to resolve
  
• Test code periodically to ensure it produces the desired results and perform debugging when necessary
  
• Perform upgrades/enhancements to make applications more secure and efficient
  
• Identify and remediate application security issues
  
• Perform development tasks that support integration between the eLicensing vendor solution and legacy PowerBuilder applications
  
• Collaborate with business leads and technical staff to complete tasks as assigned
  
• Participate in team meetings, project planning meetings, and stand-up meetings
  
• Communicate status, issues, and roadblocks
  
• Provide knowledge transfer to client staff
  
• Perform other related duties as assigned
  

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Three (3) years’ experience from 2017 or later in PowerBuilder application development role(s)
  
• Three (3) years’ experience from 2017 or later writing PL/SQL database procedures
  
• Able to pass any required background or reference checks
  
• Capable of completing the full assignment and ability to work remotely
  

Preferred Requirements:

• PowerBuilder experience using PFC class libraries
  
• Experience with Git source code management tool
  
• Experience as a programmer or relevant role
  
• Experience with SQL as relates to CRUD Operations and/or View creation
  
• Experience with Oracle Relational Database
  
• Experience picking up legacy technology and updating code or fixing errors in code
  
• Problem solving skills
  
• Effective written communication skills suitable for managerial/business staff
  
• An analytical mindset and critical thinking
  
• Ability to work independently and in team settings
