Title: CPT-11534 Pharmaceutical Research & Competitive Intelligence Virtual Assistant

Independent Contractor – CPT-11534 Pharmaceutical Research & Competitive Intelligence Virtual Assistant/Business Support VA/Junior-Advanced Level (Remote).

Overview

20four7VA is seeking offshore independent contractors to deliver remote services to clients worldwide, with a primary focus on developed markets such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.

A competitive intelligence firm serving pharmaceutical companies is seeking a part-time Research VA to support news monitoring, clinical-trial research, database maintenance, and AI-assisted research workflows.

The VA will help review and maintain alerts across industry news and pharmaceutical databases, monitor developments in clinical trials, and support internal research using AI tools.

The strongest candidates will already understand the pharmaceutical development and clinical-trial landscape, allowing the client to train them on company-specific databases and workflows rather than teaching the underlying science from scratch. At a minimum, healthcare or medical related backgrounds are required for this position.

The objective of each engagement is to assist the client in improving business efficiency, enhancing service delivery, or supporting operational functions through high-quality, task-specific services rendered by a qualified contractor.

Scope of Services

Contractors will be required to provide services that align with the following client tasks:

News & Competitive Intelligence Monitoring

• Monitor pharmaceutical and life-sciences news alerts
• Review relevant articles, company updates, earnings-call information, and industry developments
• Audit alert results for relevance and accuracy
• Organize and maintain research findings
• Flag meaningful developments for the internal team
• Support recurring competitive intelligence research as assigned

Clinical Trial Research

• Search and monitor clinical-trial databases
• Review trial status, development activity, and relevant updates
• Maintain organized records of active programs and trial information
• Assist with tracking developments across selected companies, products, or therapeutic areas
• Escalate findings requiring deeper scientific or strategic review

Database & AI Support

• Work within AlphaSense and GlobalData after client training
• Maintain searches, alerts, and relevant research outputs
• Use AI tools to summarize, organize, and accelerate research
• Apply effective prompting techniques to research workflows
• Verify AI-generated outputs rather than relying on them without review
• Support development of improved research workflows as the team expands

Each engagement is based on a defined scope of work and is governed by an independent contractor agreement. Services must be performed professionally, with adherence to any timelines, guidelines, and deliverables agreed upon in writing.

Skills

The Contractor must demonstrate proficiency in the following, depending on the Client’s requirements:

Strongly Preferred

• Clinical-trial research or clinical-development experience
• Pharmaceutical-company experience
• Regulatory or drug-development experience
• Cancer biology, biomedical research, or related life-sciences research experience

Also Consider

• Pharmacy/pharmacist background
• Pharmaceutical or medical sales representative experience
• Healthcare background with meaningful exposure to pharmaceutical development
• Applicable medical backgrounds

Additional Requirements

• Research experience required
• Strong attention to detail required
• Working knowledge of AI and prompting strongly preferred
• Strong written English required
• AlphaSense or GlobalData experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided

Work Schedule

• Contracted Hours per Week: 20 Hours (hours may increase based on performance)
• Scheduled Working Days: Monday through Friday (unless otherwise mutually agreed in writing)

Note: The Company will make reasonable efforts to align the Assigned VA’s schedule with the Client’s preferred hours as set forth above. However, availability may vary based on time zones, capacity, and the contracted hours set in this SOW. Any changes must be mutually agreed to in writing through a revised SOW.

Terms of Engagement

• Contractors will operate under a Master Services Agreement and a Statement of Work
• This is not an offer of employment; contractors are not employees of 20four7VA or any client
• All compensation is processed through 20four7VA according to the terms of the engagement
