Company: Swift Furniture Install
Industry: Commercial Woodworking / Custom Millwork & Furniture Installation
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Approximately 32 hours per week / 4 days per week
Location: Remote
Swift Furniture Install is a commercial woodworking and furniture installation company with approximately 10 years of industry experience. The company specializes in custom woodworking projects including custom displays, wall paneling, bookshelves, tools, and other commercial woodworking applications.
As Swift Furniture Install continues to grow, the company is looking for a versatile and highly organized Design & Project Coordinator who can support the business across both its technical design and project management functions.
This is an opportunity to become an important part of a growing operation and take ownership of projects from the initial review and design stage through material coordination, fabrication planning, and administrative follow-through.
Swift Furniture Install is seeking a Design & Project Coordinator with strong SketchUp experience and the ability to operate across both design/engineering and project administration.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable reviewing project requirements, developing detailed SketchUp designs and fabrication plans, coordinating materials with suppliers and factories, and keeping projects organized from start to finish.
This person will typically be responsible for managing 3–4 larger projects simultaneously, requiring strong organization, attention to detail, prioritization, and communication.
The role is designed for someone who can operate independently, solve problems, communicate effectively with factory and supplier personnel, and eventually take on additional responsibilities as the company continues to grow.
Create detailed designs and fabrication plans using SketchUp.
Translate project requirements into accurate and practical fabrication drawings.
Review jobs and determine the necessary materials, dimensions, specifications, and fabrication requirements.
Review designs for accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability.
Make revisions to designs based on project requirements and fabrication feedback.
Organize and maintain design files and project documentation.
Work with existing design concepts and develop them into production-ready plans.
Identify potential design or fabrication issues before projects move into production.
Utilize Mosaic and other relevant design or project-management software as required.
Manage multiple commercial woodworking projects simultaneously, typically 3–4 projects at various stages of completion.
Track project progress and ensure important deadlines and deliverables are being met.
Coordinate the transition of projects from design into fabrication.
Review project requirements and ensure factories have the information needed to complete the work correctly.
Communicate project specifications, changes, and requirements to factories and suppliers.
Follow up on outstanding materials, fabrication requirements, and project-related items.
Identify potential delays or issues and communicate them proactively.
Maintain organized project records and documentation.
Assist with overall project scheduling and administrative coordination.
Determine materials and components required for individual projects.
Create and manage material orders.
Coordinate with suppliers and factories to ensure materials and components are available when needed.
Verify orders and project specifications for accuracy.
Communicate with vendors regarding availability, specifications, timelines, and changes.
Help identify opportunities to improve material planning and project efficiency.
Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
Assist with project-related administrative tasks.
Track project status, deadlines, materials, and outstanding action items.
Organize information so projects can move efficiently between design, fabrication, and installation.
Provide consistent communication and follow-up with internal and external project partners.
Take ownership of assigned projects and responsibilities without requiring constant supervision.
The ideal candidate should possess:
Professional experience with SketchUp.
Experience creating detailed drawings, plans, or designs for fabrication.
Understanding of woodworking, cabinetry, millwork, furniture, or commercial fabrication processes.
Strong ability to interpret measurements, dimensions, specifications, and project requirements.
Experience coordinating projects or managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to communicate clearly with factories, suppliers, and production personnel.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
Comfortable learning and working with multiple software systems.
Ability to manage changing priorities while maintaining accuracy.
Candidates with experience in any of the following will be strongly considered:
Commercial woodworking
Custom furniture
Millwork
Cabinetry
Architectural woodworking
Furniture fabrication
Retail displays
Commercial interiors
Construction
Manufacturing
CNC/fabrication environments
Production planning
Project coordination
Procurement/material ordering
Mosaic
AutoCAD or similar CAD software
Other 3D modeling or fabrication software
Swift Furniture Install is looking for a versatile problem solver, not someone who only wants to perform one narrow function.
The ideal candidate can look at a project and understand:
What needs to be designed → how it needs to be fabricated → what materials are required → what the factory needs → what needs to happen next.
This person should be comfortable wearing multiple hats and switching between technical design work, project coordination, supplier communication, and administrative responsibilities throughout the day.
Strong communication is particularly important because this individual will work closely with factories and suppliers and must be able to clearly communicate specifications, changes, requirements, and expectations.
The right candidate should also be comfortable managing several projects at once without losing track of details.
A successful Design & Project Coordinator will:
Produce accurate, detailed SketchUp designs and fabrication plans.
Keep 3–4 projects organized and moving forward simultaneously.
Ensure factories and suppliers have the information they need.
After you apply, unlock the direct contact details of the people who actually make the call. A quick follow-up makes you 5x more likely to land an interview.
