Senior Software Developer – Remedy/BMC Helix ITSM

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer with hands-on Remedy or BMC Helix ITSM experience to support complex billing, invoicing, and financial workflow processes. The consultant will troubleshoot failed billing transactions, improve workflow configurations, support ERP integrations, and help stabilize critical processes related to fiscal close activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with Remedy or BMC Helix ITSM, financial data structures, billing automation, ERP integrations, and enterprise application troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and maintain Remedy or BMC Helix ITSM applications and workflows.
• Troubleshoot billing, invoicing, and financial workflow failures.
• Analyze failed billing tasks, identify root causes, and reprocess workflow items from beginning to end.
• Support integrations between Remedy or BMC Helix ITSM and enterprise resource planning systems.
• Work with financial data structures and chartfield configurations.
• Update billing logic, automation rules, workflow configurations, and system integrations.
• Support fiscal year-end preparation and financial close-out activities.
• Implement billing-rate updates and help stabilize financial workflows.
• Develop or modify dashboards within the Remedy or BMC Helix ITSM environment.
• Test system changes and confirm that updated workflows operate correctly.
• Document system configurations, application changes, troubleshooting procedures, and workflow updates.
• Provide technical knowledge transfer to internal team members.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Three to five years of hands-on experience developing and configuring Remedy or BMC Helix ITSM.
• Experience supporting billing workflows, invoicing processes, or related financial system functionality.
• Strong troubleshooting experience involving chartfields, financial data structures, and custom workflow failures.
• Experience integrating Remedy or BMC Helix ITSM with ERP systems.
• Ability to investigate failed workflow tasks, determine root causes, and reprocess transactions.
• Experience updating billing logic, automation rules, and workflow configurations.
• Experience supporting fiscal year-end activities, billing-rate updates, or financial close processes.
• Experience developing or modifying dashboards in Remedy or BMC Helix ITSM.
• Experience working with computerized systems, databases, spreadsheets, and word-processing applications.
• Strong technical documentation and knowledge-transfer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet time-sensitive project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating Remedy or BMC Helix ITSM with PeopleSoft, INFORMS, or a comparable ERP platform.
• Experience supporting enterprise financial or public-sector applications.
• Familiarity with billing reconciliation, financial reporting, and workflow stabilization.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.

Relevant professional experience and applicable certifications may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
