Job description

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Location:

Reston, Virginia. The role is primarily office-based initially, with the opportunity to request up to two work-from-home days per week after six months based on job knowledge, productivity, and performance. Flexibility may be considered earlier for an exceptional candidate.

Note:

A college degree and 2+ years of paralegal experience with a private law firm or corporate legal department are required. Prior franchise law experience is not required. A paralegal certificate and franchise-related experience are preferred.

Job Description

  • Support attorneys with franchise, corporate, licensing, transactional, and related business law matters.
  • Prepare, organize, review, and maintain legal documents, agreements, correspondence, and client files.
  • Assist with franchise-related filings, documentation, and compliance matters.
  • Coordinate deadlines, document production, signatures, and matter-related workflows.
  • Conduct factual and legal-related research and help organize information for attorney review.
  • Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, government agencies, and other outside parties.
  • Maintain accurate matter files, calendars, records, and document management systems.
  • Independently manage assigned projects while balancing multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Help ensure client matters move efficiently from initiation through completion.

Qualifications

  • College degree required.
  • 2+ years of paralegal experience with a private law firm or corporate legal department required.
  • Strong document preparation, organizational, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage assignments and competing deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and professional judgment.
  • Proficiency with standard legal and office technology.
  • Prior franchise paralegal experience preferred but not required.
  • Paralegal certificate preferred but not required.
