Job Description Summary

The Global Contractual Services Cost and Productivity Leader demonstrates leadership and expertise to create and lead repeatable processes to understand and plan for the future CS business as well as deliver results in the current period. In this role, you will lead an experienced direct and cross-functional, cross-regional team, utilize your strategic, operational, technical, product, commercial & financial skills and experience. The Global Contractual Services Cost and Productivity Leader is accountable to Strategic, Tactical, and Emergent timescales:

1) Work across the enterprise to develop long term strategies to deliver healthy, consistent and sustainable annual cost productivity.
2) Translate those strategies into tactical operating and financial plans through the annual budget process, partnered with Parts, Repairs, and Services fulfillment teams.
3) Develop risk abatement and crisis management plans in partnership with Business Lines, Region ITR General Managers, Engineering and Product Management for technical issue resolution and translation into business impact analysis and mitigation.
4) Own and manage compliance to SOX processes for cost projection in the CSA backlog.
5) Support complex commercial deals including technical and cost risk understanding and translation between engineering, operational, and underwriting impacts for guarantees and other technical scopes.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

This executive will lead with the highest integrity and commitment to the long-term health and sustainability of the Global Services business. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead cross-functional enterprise-wide ELT level stakeholders across Engineering, Supply Chain, Field Services, Region ITR, Product Lines, Repairs, and Fulfillment Centers to deliver CSA cost optimization and margin productivity to budget
  • Lead COE teams responsible for driving continuous monitoring of CS cost performance, business processes, NPI investment, and Catalog/KPI outcomes. Sub-teams of the same include Catalog Tools & Process, Cost Strategy, Cost Standards, Continuous Monitoring, Engineering & Technical Risk
  • Drive cost out across the global value streams through rigorous application of Lean principles, investment and process improvement
  • Derive insights from forecast and actualized datasets, using it to drive decision making within different organizations
  • Prioritize the right programs to fund for future productivity gains and highest extra work conversion
  • Own productivity targets for the globe and execute projects to deliver
  • Develop long-term and short-term cost strategy and financial operating plans and a pipeline of projects to deliver financial results
  • Manage fulfillment center stakeholders as the key influencer of NPI funding / targets for productivity, and key contact for accurate forecast of future outages
  • Communication plan for catalog targets, roles & responsibilities, KPI’s during planning, execution and post outage analysis
  • Track & mitigate technical risk exposure in collaboration with the engineering, operations and other functional teams. Establish, operationalize and drive a technical risk strategy to improve installed base performance and customer experience
  • CSA stakeholder and sign off for PCCB / commercial technical risk sign off for complex and new product offerings
  • Work across fulfillment centers, product line and engineering & other functional organizations to drive a culture of operational, financial and contractual risk management that will result in improved financial performance
  • Maintain catalog schedule and publish quarterly CSA cost catalogs on time, error free and with 100% controllership
  • Re-imagine continuous monitoring process to achieve real-time monitoring of cost actuals vs targets at right level of detail in order to spot any and all relevant and material trends in cost performance
  • Meet or exceed business performance plans, attract and retain talented personnel, create high-performance teams and evaluate employee performance, including coaching and mentoring the teams

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in gas turbine and / or combined cycle services operational role, preferably in engineering and/or product management
  • Significant leadership experience and demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence across stakeholder groups at all levels

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with CSA modeling, forecasting & risk management techniques
  • Experience with Gas Plants and Services KPI metrics and operating model
  • Relevant experience managing or executing GE Vernova’s CSA financials (deferred balance, cum catch, Policy 6.0 risk monitoring)
  • Strong Gas Plant Solutions business acumen including operations, fulfillment, commercial knowledge & financial systems
  • Strong financial skills, capable of building and maintaining financial models and operating plans
  • Ability to support a field execution function, with good technical & financial background
  • Strong understanding of commercial terms & conditions with demonstrated experience negotiating, executing or interpreting
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of the thermal power generation product line & service capabilities
  • Global leadership experience, working and influencing cross-functionally with varied stakeholder groups at all levels
  • Experience with leading initiatives cross functionally within GEV, involving functional and P&L teams
  • Strong project management skills, process skills & attention to detail
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or above or equivalent Quality certification
  • GEV leadership program graduate (FMP, EEDP, OMLP, OFLP, etc.)
  • Experience with delivering & facilitating GEV operational processes, such as SII and NPI reviews

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $232,000 and $348,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
