Remote | Senior Data Engineer (United Kingdom) — $130–$190/hour

We are sharing a specialised full-time consulting opportunity for experienced UK-based data engineering professionals to contribute practitioner-level expertise to a short, intensive research project.

You will produce the kinds of professional deliverables you create in your day-to-day work. These outputs will be used to build structured tasks and evaluation frameworks for advanced AI systems, making practical professional judgment central to the engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Platform Delivery

• Build and own production-grade data pipelines and data-platform deliverables.
• Work with SQL and Python across ETL/ELT, orchestration, streaming, and data warehousing.
• Apply tools such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, and cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Documentation & Expert Judgment

• Produce clear, professional-standard outputs grounded in real-world practice.
• Document and structure work so it can be used in evaluation and research workflows.
• Collaborate within a UK business-hours rhythm during the project period.

Ideal Profile

• Hands-on experience building and owning production data pipelines.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with experience across modern data engineering stacks.
• Experience as a Data Engineer, Senior/Staff Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, Data Platform Engineer, or Data Architect.
• Available for an intensive project period with approximately 40 hours per week.
• Must be based in the United Kingdom and have the right to work in the United Kingdom.

Engagement Details

• Full-time consulting engagement, approximately 40 hours per week.
• Project period: 14 September to 10 October 2026.
• Fully remote, aligned to UK business hours.
• Independent-contractor engagement.
• Candidates should not be committed to other projects requiring significant hours during this period.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this opportunity.
