Job description

About the job

OpusLex Partners, a woman-owned boutique legal recruiting firm partnering with top law firms and corporate legal departments nationwide. We focus on high-caliber attorney placements and take a highly strategic, relationship-driven approach to recruiting.

This position is fully remote while being fully collaborative. Our preference is for those in Eastern or Central timezones. Currently, all of our team members are in the Eastern time zone.

With our unique team model, you will manage a "split desk," focusing your time on sourcing, engaging, recruiting and supporting law firm associate attorneys to match them with client requisitions.

The Role

We are seeking a candidate-focused recruiter to join our team in a 180 / split desk model.

This is a pure recruiting role—you will not be responsible for business development. Your focus will be on identifying, engaging, and placing top legal talent.

This role is ideal for:

  • Experienced recruiters looking to focus on the candidate side of the desk, or

  • Highly motivated, sales-oriented individuals looking to build a career in recruiting

  • This role is NOT for those seeking internal talent acquisition or human resources focused roles

What You’ll Do

  • Headhunt and engage attorneys through phone , video, and our full suite of digital tools

  • Build and manage a pipeline of high-quality candidates

  • Conduct in-depth candidate interviews and assess fit

  • Guide candidates through the full recruiting lifecycle

  • Advise and influence candidates on career decisions

  • Partner internally with the business development side of the desk

What We’re Seeking

Option 1: Experienced Recruiters

  • 2+ years of recruiting or staffing experience (agency preferred)

  • Strong outbound sourcing skills (this is not an inbound role)

  • Proven ability to build relationships and close candidates

  • Comfortable managing multiple candidates and processes simultaneously

Option 2: High-Potential, Entry-Level Candidates

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable with outreach and phone-based conversations

  • Competitive, driven, and resilient

  • Interest in a career in recruiting or sales

What Matters Most (For All Candidates)

  • Confidence with cold outreach (LinkedIn, email, phone)

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • High level of organization and follow-through

  • Ability to influence and guide candidates

  • Motivation to succeed in a performance-driven environment

Why This Role is Different

  • No business development required – focus 100% on candidates

  • Work on high-end, professional roles (attorneys)

  • High earning potential with uncapped commission

  • Boutique, entrepreneurial environment with real growth opportunity

  • Emphasis on quality and long-term relationships—not just volume

Compensation

  • Base salary + uncapped commission

  • Significant upside for high performers

  • Competitive and attract benefits

  • Frequent continuing education in the form of conferences and retreats

Candidates must have a 4-year college degree, understand what it means to work for a small organization, possess exceptional writing skills and executive presence, and above all, be intellectually curious, have tremendous work ethic and team-oriented. You will be on the phone! If the telephone scares you, this is not the role for you. This role is ideal for someone who thrives off making connections and wishes to gain rewards directly resulting from their own input and hard work.

We offer a competitive base salary + commission + several choice benefit plans, 401(k), continuing education in the form of membership to various organizations, company travel and incentive programs.

This is a fully remote role with a massive runway for growth for those who are interested in advancing a career in legal recruiting and staffing.
