Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Location: Los Angeles, CA – Remote
Duration: 10 Months Contract
Job Description:
- Lead and/or work on complex IT application design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, and support.
- Analyze and refine system requirements and translate them into application prototypes and solutions.
- Plan and design system and application architecture.
- Write, debug, maintain, and optimize application code.
- Develop, integrate, test, and support software applications.
- Design user interfaces and determine application output formats.
- Collaborate with customers and stakeholders throughout application testing and implementation.
- Ensure software quality, functionality, security, and compliance.
- Integrate hardware and software components and support operating-system environments.
- Maintain technical and program documentation.
- Evaluate new application and systems-engineering technologies.
- Apply information security and information assurance policies and practices.
- Support operating-system installation, configuration, performance monitoring, optimization, and security compliance.
- Evaluate and validate systems software and support hardware/software integration.
- Install and maintain compilers, assemblers, utilities, and other systems software.
- Design, develop, optimize, and integrate reusable system components.
- Apply systems engineering concepts including structured design, supportability, survivability, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Analyze infrastructure requirements, including bandwidth and server sizing.
- Prepare effective technical documentation and reports while maintaining strong working relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in electronic data processing systems study, systems design, and programming.
- At least 4 years of experience working in a lead capacity.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related IT field preferred.
- Additional qualifying experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java.
- Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and performing system-to-system integrations.
- Expertise with relational databases, SQL, data structures, data modeling, data warehousing, and transaction processing.
- Experience with data mapping, data transformation, and data validation logic.
- Strong cloud engineering experience with AWS and/or Azure.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent technologies.
- Strong DevOps experience, including CI/CD pipelines, Git branching strategies, Docker/containerization, and release management.
- Familiarity with HL7 standards, including FHIR and HL7 v2 messaging.
- Knowledge of application software development principles, methodologies, and software design approaches.
- Knowledge of operating-system installation and configuration.
- Understanding of optimization concepts and methods.
- Knowledge of applicable government regulations and organizational operating environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, stakeholders, and technical teams.
- Experience ensuring software security, quality, functionality, and compliance.
