About the Position

Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking a highly experienced Senior IT/OT Specialist to bridge the gap between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of industrial systems across Hitachi's manufacturing and operational sites. You will drive the integration of IT and OT infrastructures while strengthening cybersecurity, operational resilience, and business continuity.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures and communication frameworks that enable seamless IT/OT integration
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement cybersecurity controls for OT environments, including intrusion detection, vulnerability management, and incident response planning
  • Partner with both IT and OT stakeholders to develop, enforce, and continuously improve security policies, standards, and best practices
  • Troubleshoot complex connectivity issues, system failures, and performance bottlenecks across converged IT/OT environments
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and deployment of innovative technologies that enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and security
  • Support IT/OT security incident response activities, including forensic investigations, containment, recovery, and lessons learned
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, system configurations, security procedures, and operational guidelines
  • Monitor emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, and regulatory requirements such as NIST and IEC 62443 to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement

Your background

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field. A Master's degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in IT and/or OT environments, including at least 2 years focused on IT/OT convergence and cybersecurity
  • Strong expertise in networking technologies and concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and industrial communication protocols
  • Solid knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and security controls within industrial and operational environments
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional global teams
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and their integration with OT environments is considered an advantage
