Skills and Competencies

  • Demonstrated early career experience in a sales, business development, or account management role within a software, data, or financial services organisation, with exposure to client-facing interactions and commercial processes
  • Foundational knowledge or a keen interest in fixed-income credit markets or financial software solutions, with a willingness to deepen expertise over time
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic is required, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats across a professional business environment
  • Confident and articulate phone manner, with well-developed objection-handling skills and the ability to engage prospects, build rapport, and navigate complex conversations
  • Strong organisational and multitasking capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality outputs
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Goal-oriented mindset, with a clear focus on achieving and exceeding performance metrics, contributing to overall team targets and business objectives
  • Proficiency in internet research and the Microsoft Office Suite, with familiarity or experience using CRM tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Salesforce to support pipeline development and tracking
  • Strong interest in emerging AI technologies and a willingness to build awareness of responsible AI practices, including considerations around risk management, governance, and ethical use

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in finance, economics, or a related discipline, with an academic foundation that supports an understanding of financial markets and commercial environments

Responsibilities

  • The Business Development Specialist plays a key role in supporting sales growth by identifying and qualifying opportunities, executing prospecting and outreach strategies, nurturing leads, collaborating closely with sales teams, and maintaining accurate records within CRM systems
  • Drive sales growth by proactively identifying and qualifying new business opportunities through a combination of inbound lead follow-up and targeted outbound outreach activities across multiple channels
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and Sales Representatives to support territory coverage and account development initiatives by generating leads and identifying potential opportunities aligned to broader sales objectives
  • Route qualified leads to the appropriate sales professionals in a timely and structured manner, ensuring seamless handover for further deal development and eventual closure by the sales team
  • Partner with sales and marketing stakeholders to co-design and execute targeted prospecting and awareness campaigns that enhance Moody’s brand visibility, strengthen market positioning, and generate pipeline growth
  • Conduct detailed research to gather key contact information and account intelligence, enabling a deeper understanding of client needs and supporting the development of more tailored outreach and business development strategies
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive records of prospecting activities, lead status, customer interactions, and pipeline progress within CRM systems to support reporting, forecasting, and performance tracking
