Job description

Description

Summary

e2L is a private equity-backed, acquisitive education services platform — fast-paced, collaborative, and growing both organically and through acquisition. We are looking for a top-notch Senior Financial Analyst to be part of our great team. We have experienced rapid growth and now serve clients across many states, having served over 225 school districts over the last ten years. This growth has created an immediate need for a Senior Financial Analyst to be a key player in building out the FP&A practices in the areas of multi-entity annual planning and rolling forecasts, recurring revenue and retention metrics, project- and client-level margin analysis, sales efficiency and pipeline analytics, key leading indicators, operational drivers, cash forecasting, board and sponsor reporting, and M&A diligence and integration analysis. The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the CFO and will work closely with the Controller, Sales and Delivery leadership across the Company and its acquired entities. This is a remote, individual-contributor role today, with a path to building and leading a team as the platform scales.

Responsibilities

  • Be a major contributor in the annual planning and monthly forecasting processes
  • Be a major contributor in the annual planning process and drive the monthly forecast at both the entity and consolidated level, including intercompany eliminations
  • Build and maintain a driver-based rolling 12–18 month forecast and a 13-week cash flow forecast
  • Support the development, reporting and benchmarking of key corporate operational metrics in weekly, monthly and quarterly cadences
  • Own and streamline the Company’s revenue forecasting and margin reporting at the project, engagement, client, and entity level
  • Provide analysis and insights into variances between actual and expected results
  • Create, maintain and provide visibility for key performance metrics, including gross and net revenue retention, logo and dollar churn, renewal and expansion rates, bookings-to-revenue conversion, and deferred revenue and backlog roll-forward
  • Build services and project-level margin reporting — delivery gross margin by engagement and district, consultant utilization and realization, bill rate versus cost rate, and cost-to-serve per district
  • Partner with Sales leadership on sales efficiency modeling and analysis — pipeline coverage and stage conversion, win rate and sales cycle, quota capacity and ramped-rep productivity, CAC, CAC payback, and LTV/CAC
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly board, sponsor, and lender reporting packages, including KPI reporting and debt covenant compliance tracking
  • Spearhead recurring analysis of revenue and recurring revenue performance, profitability, sales pipeline, and delivery capacity
  • Identify areas for business improvement by producing data-driven analysis with linkage to causality
  • Track post-close synergy realization against the deal thesis and stand up each acquired entity in the budget, forecast, and reporting architecture
  • Partner with Accounting on opening balance sheet and purchase accounting inputs, and on harmonizing chart of accounts and cost centers across entities
  • Lead the data rigor and discipline of the finance function — establish a single source of truth across the ERP, CRM, and project accounting systems, document and enforce consistent metric definitions so numbers reconcile across teams, and track forecast accuracy over time
  • Build self-service dashboards that give leadership direct access to their own numbers
  • Be the go-to player for ad-hoc analyses, financial modeling, and special projects as needed
Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of relevant work experience in financial planning and analysis, with strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
  • Experience in a private equity-backed, multi-entity, or acquisitive environment strongly preferred; public accounting, transaction advisory, investment banking, or consulting background a plus
  • Experience in a professional services or project-based business, and with subscription or recurring revenue models, strongly preferred
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data and to translate results into meaningful metrics and recommendations aimed at improving business performance
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize financials and KPIs in simple business terms and turn conclusions into actionable stories
  • Strong business acumen, with a demonstrated ability to understand and analyze key performance drivers, draw conclusions, and recommend courses of action
  • Advanced Excel skills, with proficiency creating and maintaining financial models including three-statement, consolidation, and scenario models
  • Working fluency with an ERP, a CRM (Salesforce), and a project accounting or PSA system; BI tools (Power BI or Tableau) and SQL a plus; proficient using AI tools to accelerate analysis
  • Track record of taking initiative and delivering results
  • Highly curious and inquisitive — pushes past the first answer to root cause and is not satisfied knowing what the number is without knowing why
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions with data, including upward, and does so with judgment and respect
  • Uncompromising integrity with numbers; would rather surface an issue early than defend a figure that does not hold
  • Strong professional presence — presents cleanly and confidently to stakeholders
  • Low ego and hands-on; thrives in a lean team, an ambiguous problem, and a fast-changing set of priorities
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required;
  • Background check will be required.

Compensation and Benefits

  • This is a remote full-time, exempt position.
  • Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
  • 401K with employer match
  • Health Insurance benefits offered
