Job description

About the Role

Maleda Tech is hiring three KYC/KYB Operations Leads to support onboarding, ongoing monitoring, and remediation efforts for legal entity partners in the hotel and hospitality space. This is a high-autonomy role suited to someone who can self-manage an entire vertical of work - independent hotels, hotel groups, management companies, and franchise arrangements - which typically involve layered ownership structures, beneficial ownership chains, and multi-property or multi-brand licensing relationships.

You'll work closely with compliance, legal, sales, and market-facing teams globally, and be a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders navigating KYC/KYB requirements for hospitality partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct end-to-end KYC/KYB reviews for hotel and hospitality entities, including business verification, ownership identification, and signatory authority checks
  • Handle complex cases involving hotel groups, management companies, and franchise structures, including escalation support
  • Conduct periodic reviews of existing hotel partners to ensure ongoing compliance with AML, CTF, and KYC regulations
  • Investigate and map ownership structures for entities with layered or non-obvious organizational relationships
  • Prepare and manage documentation packets (including e-signature workflows) for partner onboarding
  • Monitor onboarding dashboards and provide stakeholders with clear, regular status reporting
  • Communicate directly and confidently with internal business partners (including sales-facing teams) to explain compliance requirements and push back on requests that don't meet policy
  • Collaborate with technology teams to identify opportunities for process automation and workflow improvement
  • Support cross-functional partners (Legal, Compliance, Sales, Risk) to ensure smooth onboarding and review cycles
  • Operate flexibly across time zones as part of a globally distributed team covering US, EMEA, and APAC entities

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of overall compliance experience, with at least 2-3 years specifically in KYC/KYB, AML, or financial crime compliance (candidates with more overall experience are welcome to apply)
  • Experience onboarding or reviewing complex business entities is strongly preferred; specific hotel/hospitality industry experience is not required
  • Comfort working with ambiguous, non-standard organizational structures (franchise models, multi-property ownership, layered beneficial ownership)
  • Background in KYC/KYB or onboarding operations preferred; candidates from transaction monitoring or sanctions-only backgrounds are not a fit for this role
  • Strong autonomy and self-direction - this role requires managing your own caseload and vertical with minimal oversight, not people management
  • Comfort working with global stakeholders across multiple time zones and regions
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; additional languages are a plus but not required
  • Experience with e-signature/document workflow tools (e.g., DocuSign) is a plus
  • SQL or reporting tool experience is a plus, not required
  • Comfort adopting new tools and AI-assisted workflows to improve efficiency
  • No specific degree required - relevant experience is prioritized over formal education

Key Details

  • Number of Openings: 3
  • Start Date: September 22, 2026 (all three positions targeted to start concurrently)
  • Engagement Length: 6 months, with potential extension based on performance and business need
  • Location: Remote (United States)
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week; core collaboration hours approximately 7:00 AM-3:00 PM Pacific, with flexibility to support global stakeholders
  • Training: Structured 30-45 day onboarding/training period before transitioning into hospitality-specific casework
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
