CTG is seeking to fill a Cash Application Representative opening for our client.
Location: Remote
Duration: 4 months
Primary Responsibilities:
Research and accurately apply customer payment remittances in a timely manner.
Research and resolve unapplied cash items, including lockbox deposits, credit card payments, and ACH/wire transfers.
Post payments to customer accounts and perform payment reconciliations.
Research and reconcile disputed payment applications as needed.
Reconcile and apply payments associated with third-party remittances.
Process customer refunds related to overpayments and credit balances.
Ensure required supporting documentation and approvals are obtained and maintained for payment applications and refunds.
Prepare and maintain payment-related reporting.
Process periodic adjustments to contract structures as needed.
Maintain the integrity and accuracy of cash application and refund processes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work overtime as needed, particularly during the final days of each month and the first day of the following month.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Manage daily cash application activities across multiple payment methods.
Ensure customer payments are accurately matched and applied to outstanding invoices.
Investigate discrepancies and resolve unapplied and disputed cash items.
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
Collaborate with internal teams and other stakeholders to resolve payment and account issues.
Handle sensitive financial information with accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Required Experience:
Experience with cash application, accounts receivable, payment processing, or a related financial operations function.
Understanding of customer payments and invoices.
Strong computer skills, including experience working with financial or accounting systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to research and resolve payment discrepancies.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working with lockbox, ACH, wire, credit card, or third-party remittance payments.
Experience with payment reconciliation and unapplied cash resolution.
Experience with ERP, accounts receivable, or cash management systems.
Previous experience in a high-volume cash application environment.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $20.55 - $34.25/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
