About the Client

Our client is a US-based company that relies on data to drive decisions across Production, Marketing, and Operations. They have a modern data stack and a collaborative engineering team that values clean pipelines, reliable data products, and smart automation. They are looking for a mid-level Data Engineer who can hit the ground running and make an immediate contribution.

About the Role

We are looking for a mid-level Data Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and automation workflows across the business. You will work closely with technical and non-technical teams to collect, transform, and organize data from different sources into reliable data warehouses and data products.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with ETL processes, strong SQL and Python skills, and is comfortable working with existing codebases, data models, and internal systems. This role requires someone who can think analytically, communicate clearly, and help automate labor-intensive workflows across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines using Airflow to collect data from multiple sources and move it into data warehouses
  • Build pipeline integrations with internal data products and support long-running data processes
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from relational databases
  • Identify opportunities to improve relational data storage through schema design, query optimization, indexing, replicas, partitioning, and related techniques
  • Develop ad-hoc scripts and recurring automation processes to reduce manual work across internal teams
  • Work with existing codebases and contribute improvements without needing to rebuild systems from scratch
  • Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver reliable data solutions
  • Support ongoing data modeling, pipeline monitoring, and maintenance to ensure data accuracy and availability

Requirements

  • 2+ years of related experience in data engineering, ETL development, or a similar technical role
  • Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining ETL pipelines
  • Strong experience writing complex SQL queries and working with relational databases such as MySQL, Redshift, or similar
  • Comfortable coding extensively in Python
  • Experience with schema design, data modeling, and relational database optimization
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git
  • Familiarity with Airflow, Django, Docker, and related technologies is a plus
  • Comfortable working with codebases originally written by other engineers
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn new languages, tools, and frameworks as needed to solve business and technical problems
  • Based in Argentina, Brazil, or another South American country; Argentina preferred
