Yaqeen Institute

Islam has a centuries long tradition of inspiring its adherents to contribute to humanity based on conviction in its tenets. Previous generations of Muslims were on the forefront of contributing to medicine, philosophy, architecture, and governance among other areas. We are an institute aiming to rekindle this tradition. Constant negative portrayals of Islam have put Muslims in a defensive position in which they constantly have to justify their convictions, while fighting off the natural doubts and insecurities that arise in such a climate. As such, young Muslims should be intellectually equipped and spiritually anchored in a way that empowers them to deal with the onslaught of doubt-inducing claims routinely leveled against Islam. We aim to actively participate in the current day discourse touching on all topics that are related to establishing conviction in the hearts and minds of young Muslims. The institute aims to be the trusted source regarding these topics by generating well researched Islamic content that is then distilled through various formats including articles, infographics, animations, videos, and cutting edge app technology. This content is then carefully assembled into curricula that can be used by various educators and community leaders to help anchor young Muslims in their faith, and produce thoughtful societal contribution. The Institute is a non-profit research initiative that will make all of its content free and accessible. This will allow everyone looking for answers, and those tasked with giving answers, to always have a comprehensive resource readily available to them. We believe that telling our own story is the only way to counter the narrative that has been forced upon our community.

About Yaqeen Institute

Yaqeen is a nonprofit on a mission to pioneer Islamic research in creative, cutting-edge formats tailored to meet people where they are. We work to dismantle doubts through well-researched truths, nurture conviction by strengthening belief with practical, spiritual guidance, and inspire contribution by reviving our tradition of faithful changemakers, insha’Allah. We’re seeking like-minded professionals who embody Islamic values including sincerity, excellence, and compassion, and want to make a difference in the faith of people worldwide.

About the role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery lifecycle for our core content products– with the majority of work devoted to Yaqeen Curriculum but also providing assistance with Books, Papers, Blogs, Hashiya, and Data Studies, ensuring their seamless integration and ongoing management on our digital platforms. This role combines project management with content operations, CMS oversight, and digital publishing to support the efficient delivery of high-quality, accessible, and high-impact content.

This role focuses on delivery execution and operational excellence, working in close partnership with product managers who own content strategy and prioritization. You’ll be the connective tissue between writers, designers, engineers, and marketing teams—managing timelines, streamlining workflows, and ensuring everything is executed correctly and on time. You will also play a key role in Program Increment (PI) planning, ensuring content initiatives align with portfolio-level objectives and organizational impact goals.

What you'll do

Project Management & Delivery

  • Manage the project delivery of curriculum materials, including lesson plans, resources, assessments, and multimedia assets
  • Ensure curriculum is edited, formatted, and approved according to internal quality standards
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructional designers, and content creators to facilitate workflows and meet deadlines
  • Work with product managers and squad members to develop project schedules and delivery timelines, manage task assignments, track progress, and facilitate scope adjustments as needed
  • Participate in Program Increment (PI) planning sessions to align content product roadmaps with portfolio priorities, identify cross-team dependencies, and commit to delivery objectives that support organizational goals
  • Lead squad stand-ups, sprint planning calls, and retros to track progress, keep teams organized, and ensure output is predictable
  • Coordinate the handoff of content and assets between key stakeholders through all functional stages of the workflow
  • Maintain visibility into portfolio-level initiatives and ensure content projects are sequenced and resourced to support broader strategic objectives
  • Track project spend against approved budgets and flag variances to leadership

Cross-Platform Distribution & Impact

  • Coordinate with marketing and media teams to ensure content is optimized and packaged for distribution across channels (organic search, social media, email, partner platforms, mobile apps)
  • Work with product managers to define content release strategies that maximize reach and engagement
  • Track content delivery against engagement and impact metrics; surface insights to inform future content prioritization
  • Facilitate integration of content assets with external platforms and partners to extend audience reach
  • Ensure content handoffs to marketing include all necessary assets, metadata, and context for effective promotion

Website & Content Management

  • Oversee the uploading, structuring, and deployment of curriculum content on the website using a Content Management System (CMS), ensuring alignment with content strategy defined by product managers
  • Ensure all published content is accurate, accessible, and adheres to brand, UX, and SEO guidelines
  • Collaborate with web developers and UX teams to optimize the presentation and navigation of curriculum materials

CMS Administration

  • Manage publishing workflows for content staging, review, and deployment in the CMS (e.g., WordPress)
  • Maintain content taxonomies, metadata, version control, and publishing standards
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of CMS processes, procedures, and user guides
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in content management and product execution

Cross-functional Collaboration & Communication

  • Manage stakeholder expectations by communicating project timelines, dependencies, and risks in a timely and transparent manner
  • Provide project status updates to leadership and stakeholders during sprint planning and review meetings
  • Mediate discussions to create shared ownership among cross-functional teams in order to maintain project momentum and avoid schedule interruptions
  • Collaborate with marketing, media, and growth teams to align content release schedules with promotional campaigns and audience engagement strategies. Support resource and capacity planning for content squads, flagging constraints and recommending allocation adjustments
  • Coordinate with external contractors, freelancers, or agency partners as needed to supplement content production capacity
  • Plan and organize demos and product testing sessions with stakeholders to gather feedback

Quality Assurance & Optimization

  • Conduct QA checks to ensure published content is free of errors, follows best practices, and is responsive across devices
  • Identify, recommend and implement process improvements for content production, publishing, and web maintenance
  • Partner with analytics and product teams to assess content performance post-launch and incorporate learnings into future project planning
  • Support content updates and maintenance post-launch as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Certifications:
    • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) – Scrum Alliance (Preferred)
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) – PMI (Preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional projects in an Agile environment with a proven record of delivering digital or publishing projects on time and within scope
  • Deep knowledge of managing content, workflows and user permissions within a CMS
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and participation in Program Increment planning preferred
  • Experience writing project requirements for content projects and tools
  • Experience coordinating the efforts of subject matter experts, engineers, marketers, product managers, and designers
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, techniques and frameworks, such as Scrum, to structure and deliver solutions
  • Experience managing project timelines, risk mitigation and dependency management
  • Skilled in facilitating communication between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on execution, scope constraints, and delivery expectations
  • Proficiency in facilitating and driving consistency across all Agile ceremonies (program increments, portfolio planning, goals setting, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily scrums)
