Data Engineer - West Monroe

CRG Costa Rica is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a high-impact international project. This role will be responsible for designing, building, and delivering scalable data solutions that support analytics, business intelligence, and AI-driven initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on technical expertise with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, ensuring data solutions meet quality, reliability, performance, and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, and cloud-native technologies.

• Build and optimize metadata-driven ETL/ELT pipelines.

• Integrate data from multiple internal and external systems into analytics-ready datasets.

• Support AI/ML and advanced analytics initiatives through high-quality data assets.

• Implement data quality controls, monitoring, and validation frameworks.

• Troubleshoot data pipeline failures and resolve production issues.

• Optimize data processing performance and ensure operational reliability.

• Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, Product, and Engineering teams.

• Develop curated datasets for reporting and visualization platforms such as Tableau and Power BI.

• Provide technical mentorship and contribute to engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.

• Advanced SQL skills, including complex transformations and query optimization.

• Strong experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT solutions.

• Experience with distributed data processing and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, Hadoop, or Spark Streaming.

• Experience with ETL orchestration tools such as Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Informatica, Talend, or IBM DataStage.

• Experience supporting production environments, troubleshooting issues, and resolving data-related incidents.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Professional-level English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with AWS-based data platforms.

• Exposure to Analytics, Business Intelligence, and AI/ML solutions.

• Previous consulting experience.
