Job Title: Freight Broker (Remote – Domestic Logistics)

Location: Remote (Preference for candidates with asset-based experience and an active book of business)
Headquarters: Lewistown, PA

Compensation:

  • Commission-Based

  • Commission: 70/30 split on non-asset-based freight (70% to the broker)

  • Bonuses: Quarterly profitability bonuses + annual performance-based profit share

About the Opportunity

A rapidly growing logistics and transportation company is expanding its freight brokerage division and seeking an experienced Freight Broker to join its team. This position offers independence, high earning potential, and the backing of a strong carrier network of over 4,000 approved carriers, giving brokers flexibility across multiple freight types and regions.


Position Overview

The Freight Broker will be responsible for developing shipper relationships, managing the cradle-to-grave brokerage process, and driving profitable freight growth. This role is ideal for a motivated logistics professional with an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong network of shipper or carrier contacts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with shippers to secure consistent, profitable freight opportunities.

  • Prospect, negotiate, and close new freight business across domestic lanes.

  • Source, qualify, and onboard carriers to ensure compliance and reliability.

  • Manage the full shipment lifecycle from quoting to booking, tracking, and billing.

  • Monitor market rates and adjust pricing strategies for profitability and competitiveness.

  • Utilize TMS systems and other logistics tools for load management and reporting.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain long-term client partnerships.

  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth shipment execution.



Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of freight brokerage experience (domestic, cradle-to-grave preferred).

  • Strong understanding of trucking operations, lanes, and DOT regulations.

  • Proven ability to negotiate competitive rates and build profitable relationships.

  • Existing book of business or active shipper/carrier network strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency with TMS and CRM systems.

  • Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and entrepreneurial mindset.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
