Essential Duties:
Spiritual Development

  • Ensure that all Young Life work is designed and carried out with an awareness of and in alignment with Young Life’s Statement of Faith, Values and Methods.
  • Develop strong spiritual disciplines and accountability.
  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including reflection, study, prayer and worship.


Screening and Compliance
Support in the administrative process and follow up of the online screening and compliance process to include the following:

  • Utilize the Faith and Conduct tool to document the screening process, record history, and make notes regarding the status of people that are in progress.
  • Operate a third party Criminal Background Check (CBC) websites such as Fingerprint Based Background Check (FBBC) for CA and PA, Michigan’s Child Protective Services (CPS),  YL Connect,   
  • Complete manual checks on those staff and volunteers who are unable to utilize the automated process.
  • Conduct searches and compare systems for information accuracy and input errors.
  • Review screenings that have an incident on their background and determine if further review is needed.
  • Compile documents for those screening that need further review to include recommendations, probation documents, and detailed explanations of events.
  • Update statuses of staff and volunteers when necessary (i.e. expire accounts).
  • Support new employee orientation compliance and the Moonlighting/Conflict of Interest surveys.
  • Provide Screening and Compliance process training to new Regional Administrators.


Staff / Volunteer Roster Management

  • Assist Field Staff with questions regarding their Staff/Volunteer roster.


HR Administration

  • Provide excellent customer service support to Young Life field, mission services and camp staff in regards to Human Recourse policy and procedure.
  • Provide general Human Resources administrative support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


HR Services Representative Support

  • Have a general understanding of other HR Services Representative’s duties.
  • Act as a backup to the other HR Services Representatives when needed.
  • Be able to accurately respond to or direct general calls related to Human Resources.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one (1) year of relevant administrative experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping with good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proven excellent communication skills both verbal and written (strong emphasis on grammar).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word) and Google Workspace.
  • Desired typing skills of 55 to 60 wpm accurately.
  • Willingness to obtain additional certifications (e.g., CA DOJ Custodian of Record) if needed
  • Professional and pleasant phone presence.
  • Previous HR, administrative, or compliance experience is a plus.

Job Specific Working Conditions:


In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is outlined below. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the United States. 

The anticipated hourly rate for this position can range from $17.85-$22.30 depending on relevant education, experience, and location.
