The Halo Collar team is seeking an experienced Director of Operations & Supply Chain to lead and scale our supply chain functions across materials sourcing, vendor management, product lifecycle management, and logistics. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a seasoned operator who thrives in a cross-functional environment and can drive execution across internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Materials Sourcing & Vendor Development
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new accessories vendors and personalization suppliers to support product growth and diversification
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with accessory and packaging vendors to optimize margins without compromising quality
- Develop and maintain a strategic sourcing roadmap that balances cost, quality, lead time, and supply chain resilience
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all outside vendors, setting clear expectations around performance, quality, and delivery
- Lead regular business reviews and scorecards for key vendor partners
- Develop contingency and dual-sourcing strategies to mitigate supply chain risk
- Set and maintain safety stock targets and buffer inventory levels with manufacturing partners to protect against supply disruptions
NPI & Manufacturing Partnership
- Drive NPI timelines, milestone tracking, and cross-functional alignment between internal teams and manufacturing partners
- Serve as the primary supply chain lead partnering with manufacturing partners on all upcoming new product introductions
- Serve as the primary point of contact with contract manufacturers on quality escapes and epidemic failure investigations, coordinating root-cause analysis, corrective action plans, and related warranty exposure
- Own warranty replacement strategy and RMA policy design in coordination with manufacturing partners
Regulatory & Product Compliance
- Own product compliance requirements for hardware components (and packaging) sourced from overseas manufacturing partners, including RoHS (Taiwan-origin electronics), California Prop 65, UL 2054 battery/electrical safety certification, and CPSC requirements (including GCC documentation)
- Partner with VP, Ops and Finance on import compliance, including tariff classification, country-of-origin determinations, and duty exposure tied to overseas sourcing decisions
- Maintain documentation supporting FOB/title transfer terms with manufacturing partners and ensure consistency with company revenue recognition policies
Retailer Supply Onboarding and Reverse Logistics
- Create and own a scalable supply onboarding playbook for new retail partners, covering order processes, compliance requirements, and forecasting alignment
- Serve as the operational point of contact for new retailers during their launch period, ensuring a smooth supply experience from day one
- Partner with the retail team to assess retailer requirements early and translate them into supply chain commitments
- Design and implement reverse logistics processes for our retailer channel, including return authorization, disposition, and restocking workflows
- Work cross-functionally with finance, operations, and customer teams to ensure returns are handled efficiently and cost-effectively
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
- Own the end-to-end PLM process, serving as the central point of accountability for BOM version control and documentation integrity
- Establish and enforce PLM best practices, change control processes, and cross-partner communication standards
- Establish and enforce change management protocols (ECOs/ECNs) and ensure cross-functional alignment on all product revisions.
Team Leadership
- Directly oversee Operations Team employees, providing mentorship, direction, and performance management
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence within the team
- Align logistics and planning functions with broader company goals around fulfillment speed, inventory efficiency, and cost
- Model and encourage effective use of AI tools across the team as a support resource for analysis, research, and documentation, while ensuring independent judgment and accountability are never delegated to them
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive operations and supply chain experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven track record managing overseas manufacturing partners and executing NPI programs
- Hands-on experience owning PLM and BOM management processes in a product-driven company
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract experience
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills — comfortable partnering with Engineering, Finance, and external stakeholders
- Proficiency with ERP, PLM, or supply chain management systems
- Experience in consumer products, hardware, or accessories preferred
- Familiarity with consumer electronics compliance frameworks (RoHS, Prop 65, CPSC, UL) preferred

We provide competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base salary, incentives, and benefits. Final compensation dependent on experience, skills, and qualifications. The base salary range for this role is $170k - $180k.
