About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Automation Specialist to design, implement, and optimize enterprise automation solutions that support the software development lifecycle. This role is responsible for administering CI/CD pipelines, source code repositories, Agile collaboration tools, automated testing frameworks, and cloud-based automation infrastructure. The ideal candidate is passionate about automation, continuous improvement, and modern DevOps practices, helping development teams deliver secure, reliable, and scalable software solutions.
Working closely with developers, architects, QA engineers, and infrastructure teams, you will support enterprise automation initiatives, improve development workflows, and leverage AWS technologies to modernize software delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for automation management include, but are not limited to:
- Create, edit, and manage software deployment plans.
- Manage, maintain, and administer software source code repositories.
- Administer and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environments, including GitLab, to support automated development and deployment workflows.
- Manage and administer Agile project management and collaboration platforms, including Jira and Confluence.
- Administer automated testing frameworks that support comprehensive testing of user interfaces, application modules, and software security across multiple programming languages and platforms.
- Develop custom plug-ins, as needed, to enhance CI/CD environments, Agile collaboration platforms, and testing frameworks in support of NLM business requirements.
- Research, evaluate, and implement continuous improvements to CI/CD pipelines by adopting emerging technologies, tools, and best practices.
- Create or assist in designing CI/CD architecture within AWS Cloud infrastructure to support OCCS and NLM business objectives.

- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the flexibility to manage changing priorities and multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Experience analyzing and developing workflow automation processes.
- Demonstrated experience in systems analysis, systems architecture, and software testing.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain technical systems documentation.
- Experience training users on software automation workflows and related technologies.
- Demonstrated experience working within Agile development environments.
- Experience researching, evaluating, and implementing emerging technologies and automation solutions.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience administering both Windows and Linux server environments.
- Demonstrated experience implementing, administering, or supporting:
- CI/CD platforms (GitLab, Jenkins, TeamCity)
- Automated testing frameworks (Selenium)
- Java application servers (Tomcat)
- Networking and load balancing technologies (F5 BIG-IP)
- Collaboration and ticketing platforms (Atlassian Jira and Confluence)
- Source code repositories (Git and Subversion)
- Demonstrated knowledge of networking protocols (TCP, DNS, FTP, TLS, HTTP/HTTPS), Identity and Access Management (IAM), SQL, JSON, Python, and Java.
- Demonstrated AWS Cloud Operations experience equivalent to an AWS Certified Professional.
- Experience working with OCCS or organizations of similar size, scope, and complexity while partnering with internal stakeholders to automate business functions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
