Mechanical Engineer

Role overview

Qualifications

  • Power-user proficiency with industry-standard CAD and simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX, FreeCAD, Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, or Ansys)
  • Broad foundational knowledge across mechanical sub-fields (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, structural analysis, manufacturing)
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments and communicating technical engineering information clearly to non-domain audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

  • Validate AI Workflows: Evaluate the feasibility, manufacturability, and practical utility of AI-generated mechanical designs, components, and simulations.
  • Define Tasks Benchmarks: Help design, collect, and validate the specific engineering tasks, edge cases, and evaluation metrics that our AI models need to master.
  • Provide Domain Expertise: Operate comfortably across a wide range of mechanical engineering sub-disciplines, applying generalist knowledge in CAD/CAM, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and structural analysis to assess model performance.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner directly with AI researchers and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex mechanical constraints into clear, actionable feedback for model training.
