Title: I-CPT-11301 IT Support Specialist

Independent Contractor – I-CPT-11301 IT Support Specialist/IT Specialist/Senior-Advanced Level (Remote).

Overview

20four7VA is seeking offshore independent contractors to deliver remote services to clients worldwide, with a primary focus on developed markets such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.

We are seeking a skilled and dependable IT Support Specialist to provide day-to-day technical support and system administration across multiple business platforms. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing Microsoft 365 environments, troubleshooting email systems, configuring domains and DNS settings, administering GoDaddy accounts, and supporting Microsoft Azure cloud services.
This role requires someone who is proactive, security-conscious, and capable of independently diagnosing and resolving technical issues while ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of business systems. Candidates should have recent experience supporting U.S.-based businesses and be comfortable working in a fast-paced remote environment.

The objective of each engagement is to assist the client in improving business efficiency, enhancing service delivery, or supporting operational functions through high-quality, task-specific services rendered by a qualified contractor.

Scope of Services

Contractors will be required to provide services that align with the following client tasks:

Microsoft 365 Administration

  • Manage and administer Microsoft 365 users, licenses, and subscriptions.
  • Troubleshoot Outlook and Microsoft 365 email issues.
  • Configure and maintain Exchange Online mailboxes.
  • Support user account creation, password resets, and access management.
  • Assist with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive administration.
  • Monitor Microsoft 365 system health and resolve technical issues.

Domain & DNS Management

  • Configure and troubleshoot DNS records, including A, MX, TXT, CNAME, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records.
  • Manage domain registrations and renewals.
  • Diagnose and resolve domain connectivity and email routing issues.
  • Coordinate domain migrations when required.
  • Ensure proper DNS configurations for business applications and email services.

GoDaddy Administration

  • Manage GoDaddy hosting and domain accounts.
  • Configure DNS settings and domain forwarding.
  • Assist with SSL certificate installation and renewals.
  • Support website and email-related account management tasks.
  • Troubleshoot GoDaddy platform issues.

Microsoft Azure Support

  • Assist with Azure cloud platform setup and configuration.
  • Support Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) administration.
  • Manage user permissions and access controls.
  • Monitor cloud resources and system availability.
  • Assist with Azure security best practices and ongoing maintenance.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide remote technical support for hardware, software, email, and cloud-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot user access, authentication, and connectivity problems.
  • Resolve Microsoft Office application issues.
  • Document support tickets, resolutions, and recurring issues.
  • Escalate complex issues when appropriate.

Security & System Maintenance

  • Maintain security best practices across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
  • Monitor system performance and identify potential risks.
  • Assist with multi-factor authentication (MFA) implementation and user security.
  • Ensure business systems remain stable, secure, and up to date.
  • Recommend improvements to strengthen system reliability and security.

Documentation & Process Improvement

  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Create and update technical documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance IT operations.
  • Assist with implementing new technologies and system enhancements.


    Each engagement is based on a defined scope of work and is governed by an independent contractor agreement. Services must be performed professionally, with adherence to any timelines, guidelines, and deliverables agreed upon in writing.


    Skills

    The Contractor must demonstrate proficiency in the following, depending on the Client’s requirements:

    • Minimum of 1–2 years of business IT Support experience.
    • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
    • Experience managing Exchange Online and Outlook email systems.
    • Experience configuring and troubleshooting DNS records and domains.
    • Experience administering GoDaddy accounts.
    • Experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
    • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
    • Strong understanding of business IT infrastructure.
    • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment.
    • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
    • Security-minded with attention to protecting business systems and data.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Recent experience supporting U.S.-based companies.
    • Experience with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Manager.
    • Experience implementing Microsoft 365 security best practices.
    • Experience with SharePoint Online and OneDrive administration.
    • Knowledge of SSL certificates, domain migrations, and website hosting.
    • Experience supporting remote teams.
    • IT certifications such as Microsoft Certified, Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900), CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications are a plus.

    Terms of Engagement

    • Contractors will operate under a Master Services Agreement and a Statement of Work
    • This is not an offer of employment; contractors are not employees of 20four7VA or any client
    • All compensation is processed through 20four7VA according to the terms of the engagement
