Job Overview

Our client is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Account Executive to join their growing sales team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated sales professional looking to develop their career within the B2B SaaS and data intelligence sector.

Working closely with the senior commercial team, you will take ownership of qualified opportunities generated by the outbound sales team, guiding prospects through discovery, product demonstrations, trials and the sales process through to close. You'll engage with senior decision-makers, build trusted relationships and manage consultative sales cycles across multiple stakeholders.

This role offers significant learning and career development, with hands-on mentoring from experienced sales leaders who will work alongside you throughout your onboarding and development.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Account Management

  • Manage qualified sales opportunities from initial handover through to successful close.
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand client challenges, business objectives and requirements.
  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations and guide prospects through product trials.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers and commercial stakeholders.
  • Develop tailored solutions that align with customer needs and business objectives.

Sales Pipeline Management

  • Manage multiple sales opportunities through a structured sales pipeline.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, including deal stages, meeting notes and next actions.
  • Ensure all opportunities are progressed efficiently through the sales process.
  • Forecast pipeline activity and provide regular updates to the leadership team.

Relationship Building

  • Build long-term relationships with prospective clients within the commodities and procurement sectors.
  • Navigate multi-stakeholder buying processes with professionalism and confidence.
  • Understand customer priorities and position solutions that deliver measurable value.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales journey.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with the outbound sales team to ensure smooth lead handovers.
  • Share customer insights to help refine sales messaging, targeting and positioning.
  • Collaborate with senior sales leaders to continuously improve sales performance.
  • Contribute ideas that support business growth and customer acquisition.

Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience in B2B sales or account management.
  • Experience within SaaS, data, financial services or another technical or consultative sales environment is highly desirable.
  • Confidence engaging with senior business leaders and commercial decision-makers.
  • Experience managing consultative or multi-stage sales processes.
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong CRM discipline.
  • A proactive, coachable mindset and willingness to learn.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience selling SaaS or subscription-based solutions.
  • Exposure to procurement, commodities or business intelligence sectors.
  • Experience managing multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce or similar.
  • Experience delivering online product demonstrations.
