Internship Description:
This position will support the talent acquisition team in reviewing job applicants, reviewing positions with applicants/candidates, and confirming personal information prior to submitting information through the portals for review by the hiring teams. The position will also support the coordination of interviews and onboarding of new hires. The Recruiting Assistant will provide best-in-class service to candidates and internal clients, acting with the greatest amount of professionalism and sense of urgency.

This individual will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
  • Review of applicants against jobs applied to, while cross referencing other possible opportunities for the applicant
  • Call applicants to confirm all necessary information to formally submit to hiring teams, while also working with applicants to obtain any supportive documents required
  • Format candidate resumes for submission to hiring teams
  • Continuous tracking and updating of applicant statuses within the Applicant Tracking System
  • Proactively follow up with clients to push candidates through the submission process (interviews, offers, and rejections)
  • Manage the coordination and tracking of interviews through internal tracking system and clients' systems
  • Provide administrative support and communication to back-office teams when necessary
  • Initiate, track, and report results of background checks
  • Assist with new hire onboarding (e.g. preparing documents, coordinating orientation agendas, verification of I9’s)

Must Haves:
  • Experience with MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associate’s degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

Nice to Haves:
  • Experience working in human resources and/or talent acquisition
  • Experience with any formal tracking systems or tools; ie. ERP, SAP, OpenGov, etc.  
  • 2 years post-Secondary/Associates

Not all internships include certification training by Vets2PM, as many host companies include their own internship-focused training instead. If selected for an internship with Vets2PM please read your approval email, letter, and training plan to be sure you understand what is included in your internship.
