Job description

Job Title: Sales Development Representative

Location: South Africa

Job Type: Full-Time, Remote

Working Hours: US Hours (9am-5pm EST)

Salary: South African Rand (ZAR)

We are looking for a motivated and confident Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our growing team.

As the first point of contact for prospective customers, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities through outbound prospecting. You'll engage businesses that operate vehicle fleets, introduce our telematics and fleet management solutions, qualify potential customers, and schedule appointments for our Account Executives.

This is not a closing role. Your success will be measured by your ability to build rapport, qualify opportunities, and consistently generate high-quality meetings for the sales team.

Full product and industry training will be provided. Previous experience in telematics, fleet management, SaaS, or B2B technology sales is advantageous but not essential.

  • Conduct outbound cold calls to prospective business clients.
  • Identify and engage companies that operate vehicle fleets.
  • Introduce the company's telematics and fleet management solutions.
  • Build rapport and establish credibility with business decision-makers.
  • Ask discovery questions to understand customer needs and identify opportunities.
  • Handle objections confidently and professionally.
  • Qualify leads and schedule meetings for the closing sales team.
  • Follow up with prospects and nurture relationships throughout the sales process.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, including call notes, customer interactions, and follow-up activities.
  • Coordinate meetings between prospects and the sales team.
  • Effectively manage your sales pipeline to ensure no opportunities are missed.
  • Meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly activity and appointment targets.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Sales Development Representative (SDR), Business Development Representative (BDR), Appointment Setter, Lead Generator, or in an outbound sales role.
  • Experience making high volumes of outbound cold calls.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with a fluent, neutral accent.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Confident speaking with business decision-makers over the phone.
  • Target-driven with a positive, resilient attitude.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage leads and sales activities.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Reliable internet connection and a professional home office setup.
  • Experience in SaaS, telematics, fleet management, or B2B technology sales is advantageous but not required.
