Job Description – Regional Sales Representative

Functional Role:

The Regional Sales Representative plays a vital role in expanding market presence and driving sales growth within an assigned territory. This role is responsible for identifying and developing sales strategies for new and existing customers across a geographic region and leading sales efforts for service, parts, and crane-related offerings. The position also focuses on retaining and expanding key accounts by leveraging a diverse product portfolio, building strong customer relationships, understanding customer needs, and recommending the most effective solutions.

Job Responsibilities include:

Actively engage with target customers, build strong and lasting relationships, and understand their unique needs and challenges.

Develop existing accounts and customers while establishing new customers within the territory. This role involves regular travel and extensive in-person interaction with customers and prospects.

Present value-driven and innovative solutions to potential customers, clearly communicating benefits and competitive advantages.

Meet and exceed monthly targets for cold calls, quotes, sales, and customer growth.

Follow up on service, parts, and fabrication inquiries, sales leads, and quotations.

Utilize and maintain accurate records within the CRM system for existing and prospective customers in the territory.

Participate in relevant industry organizations for networking, prospecting, and referral opportunities.

Engage with active jobs within the territory through delivery, installation, and completion, including post-project customer follow-up.

Prospect for new customers and generate new orders across all service offerings, including cold calling.

Achieve targeted new business goals to support overall profitability.

Stay current with industry trends, new products, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge and provide insights to the organization.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, engineering, and service, to ensure a seamless sales process and exceptional customer experience.

Maintain a high level of product knowledge and continuously educate yourself on industry advancements.

Uphold core values of being self-driven, willing to learn, a team player, doing the right thing, and going above and beyond while delivering outstanding customer service and consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience and Skill Requirements:

3–5 years of successful experience as a sales representative or sales manager in a heavy industrial equipment environment, consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Established networks and relationships within crane, lifting, or heavy equipment industries preferred.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills across all organizational levels.

Proven ability to manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to close.

Self-motivated, results-oriented, positive, and outgoing with a strong work ethic.

Strong business acumen and cold-calling expertise within heavy equipment or manufacturing sectors.

Demonstrated ability to grow new customer accounts.

Experience managing multiple long-cycle sales processes.

Background in account management and account expansion.

Strong understanding and application of solution-selling techniques.

Experience developing and supporting customer networks and sales pipelines.

Ability to work independently and generate quotations autonomously when required.

Understanding of large machine design and manufacturing operations.

Ability to read and interpret basic dimensional drawings.

Capability to translate customer needs into internal requirements and clearly communicate technical solutions back to customers.

Strong customer advocacy skills and commitment to meeting specialized customer needs.

Working Conditions:

The Regional Sales Representative works both indoors and outdoors, moving between customer facilities, including elevated heights, traveling frequently to customer locations, and interacting with service teams, sales personnel, and customers. All safety protocols of both the organization and customer facilities must be followed.
