Position Title:
Business Solutions Manager (Outside Sales)

Location:
Michigan Thumb / Saginaw Bay Area 

Compensation:
$93K–$100K Base + Bonus

Travel:
50–75% (regional/local daytime travel)

Industry:

About the Company 

Our client provides consulting services that help manufacturers improve performance, implement technology, and drive sustainable growth. They partner with organizations to enhance leadership, optimize operations, and deliver measurable business outcomes across multiple areas of the business.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Client Acquisition

  • Independently generate new leads and build a strong pipeline

  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and strategic partners

  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities

Consultative Sales & Solution Development

  • Assess client business and technical requirements

  • Develop proposals and supporting documentation tailored to client needs

  • Recommend solutions across business growth, technology implementation, productivity, and organizational development

Client Engagement & Advisory

  • Partner with clients to schedule and deliver on sales commitments

  • Conduct Lead Opportunity Assessments and provide recommendations (approx. 1 day/week)

CRM & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate client and opportunity data within CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)

Work Environment

  • Engage with clients in manufacturing environments, including occasional exposure to noise, temperature variation, and industrial conditions


Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of business development experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector

  • Experience selling engineering or manufacturing-related consulting services

  • Proven ability to generate, develop, and close new business opportunities

  • Strong consultative selling and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must reside in or near the Michigan Thumb / Saginaw Bay region


Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field

  • Experience working with manufacturing leadership teams

  • Background in process improvement, technology implementation, or organizational development


Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $93,000–$100,000
On-Target Earnings (OTE) / Bonus Structure: Bonus opportunities based on performance
Benefits: Standard benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, etc.)
