Tax Associate (Remote – Mexico or Colombia)

Position Overview

We are looking for a Tax Associate to join the U.S. Tax team. This role is responsible for preparing U.S. federal and state tax returns, primarily Forms 1065 (Partnerships) and 1120 (Corporations), while ensuring compliance with IRS regulations and filing deadlines.

The ideal candidate has prior experience in U.S. Tax, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, communicates confidently in English, and is looking to continue growing within an international firm.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review U.S. Federal and State tax returns, primarily Forms 1065 and 1120.
  • Prepare tax extensions and support the completion of final tax filings.
  • Assist with tax notices, amendments, and tax setup processes.
  • Analyze financial statements, trial balances, and supporting documentation before tax preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS and state tax regulations.
  • Collaborate with U.S.-based teams and clients to gather information and resolve tax-related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and meet filing deadlines.
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies within the tax team.


Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in U.S. Tax.
  • Hands-on experience preparing Forms 1065 (Partnerships) and 1120 (Corporations).
  • Experience with Federal and State tax returns.
  • Experience working with U.S.-based clients or teams is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with tax software such as CCH Axcess, ONESOURCE, UltraTax, ProConnect, or similar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. tax regulations and compliance.

Language

  • Advanced English (required).
  • Comfortable participating in meetings and communicating daily with U.S.-based teams and clients.

  • Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST
