Job description
ITCON Services is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to support USDA FPAC IT Service Desk operations by establishing and maintaining configuration management processes for enterprise systems, applications, and infrastructure. The Configuration Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring the integrity, traceability, and accuracy of configuration items (CIs) across the FPAC environment. This role governs configuration baselines, supports change control processes, and maintains alignment between the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and the operational environment.
This role is accountable for maintaining configuration baselines, supporting change and release management processes, and ensuring configuration data accuracy to enable reliable IT service delivery and audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain configuration management processes aligned with ITIL and FPAC service delivery requirements.
Define, document, and manage configuration items (CIs) and their relationships within the CMDB.
Maintain configuration baselines and ensure all changes are properly tracked, approved, and documented.
Support Change Management by validating configuration impacts and ensuring updates are reflected in the CMDB.
Perform regular configuration audits and reconciliation activities to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
Support release and deployment activities by ensuring configuration data reflects current production environments.
Develop and maintain configuration management documentation, procedures, and reporting artifacts.
Collaborate with Asset Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management teams to support root cause analysis and service reliability.
Required Skills and Qualifications
3+ years of experience in configuration management within an enterprise IT environment.
Strong understanding of ITIL Configuration and Change Management processes.
Experience working with CMDB platforms (ServiceNow preferred).
Experience managing configuration baselines, CI relationships, and audit processes.
Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and documentation discipline.
Public Trust clearance eligibility.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
ITIL Foundation certification or higher.
Experience supporting federal IT environments and compliance frameworks.
Familiarity with system integration environments supporting SAP, Salesforce, ArcGIS, or similar enterprise platforms.
