Purpose of the role:

This role combines hands-on automation expertise, and strategic ownership of test stability, CI/CD integration, automation-first practices and modern AI-driven testing practices.
The Senior AQA will work closely with the QA Tech Lead and the Development team to ensure predictable release quality, stable automation pipelines, and high visibility of quality metrics across the entire engineering team.

Technologies and tools we use: Java 25, Maven, TestNG, Selenide, Selenium Grid, RestAssured, OpenAPIGenerator, Kafka, RabbitMQ, PostgresSQL, Centrifugo, Mockserver, ReportPortal, TestRail.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize automated tests for Sportsbook applications and services.

• Conduct code reviews for other AQA engineers and establish best practices for clean, reusable test code.

• Perform daily analysis of test runs results and provide comprehensive reports.

• Investigate automation failures and keep the automated suite stable.

• Document and track defects using TestRail, JIRA, and Confluence.

• Create and update test cases and automated tests.

• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level AQA engineers.

• Collaborate closely with development, product, and operations teams to ensure high-quality releases.

• Continuously improve test frameworks, tools, and processes to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.

• Optimize routine workflows using AI.

Required Experience:

• 6+ years of test automation experience in Java.

• Solid hands-on experience in UI and API automation (Selenium or Selenide, RestAssured, Maven, TestNG or JUnit).

• Practical experience with AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) is a must.

• Strong expertise in both manual and automated testing tools.

• Strong understanding of software testing processes and SDLC.

• Profound understanding of HTTP and web-application principles.

• Strong understanding of microservice architecture, including the ability to test service-to-service communication, data flows, and fault tolerance.

• Extensive hands-on experience with SQL and one of the major databases.

• Hands-on experience with MQ-brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ.

• Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools like Sentry, Grafana, and others.
  

Nice to have:

• Experience in working with Swagger/OpenAPI data models.

• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI).

• Familiarity with performance and security testing tools and processes (JMeter, Gatling or others).

• Experience in working with Protobuf.

• Experience in UI testing using Playwright.
