SUMMARY
The Technical Project Manager is a deliveryrole sitting at the intersection of project execution, technical coordination,and stakeholder communication. You will lead and coordinate complex IT projectsfor hedge funds and asset managers, including cloud infrastructure, tradingapplication rollouts, and data platform builds, working from our Belgradedelivery hub.
You will manage multiple concurrentengagements across delivery teams in Belgrade and globally, owning the projectlifecycle from initiation through closure. You will partner with architects,engineers, and client stakeholders to keep delivery on track, dependenciesvisible, and risks proactively managed. Your clients will look to you as atrusted delivery partner who keeps complex programmes moving with disciplineand clarity.
This is a delivery leadership role withinthe Project Management Team. You will not have direct reports, but you willlead matrix teams across engineering, cloud, cybersecurity, and architecturefunctions. You set the cadence, drive accountability through RAID disciplineand clear status reporting, and are responsible for how scope, schedule, andquality come together on each engagement. You work closely with Directors andHeads of departments across the company to remove blockers, align resources,and protect delivery commitments to clients.
You will work hand-in-hand with the companyClient Technology Managers and Client Success Managers, aligning delivery planswith client strategy and commercial commitments. You will also support newbusiness initiatives by contributing project planning input to proposals,contract scoping, and renewals.
Your primary focus is delivery for ourglobal hedge fund, asset management and financial client base. You willcollaborate with delivery and engineering teams in New York, London, Belgrade,Philippines and India in a follow-the-sun model, ensuring a consistent deliveryexperience wherever a client operates.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Delivery Leadership
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, bothinternal and client-facing, ranging from several weeks to multi-monthengagements for global hedge fund, asset management and financial client base.
- Lead full project lifecycle activities frominitiation through closure, including project and resource planning, sprint andmilestone tracking, Scrum ceremonies, backlog grooming, and change control.
- Drive Agile/Scrum and Waterfall deliverymodels depending on project shape and client preference, applying the rightframework to each engagement.
- Own RAID discipline (risks, assumptions,issues, dependencies) across all engagements, with proactive risk and issuemanagement, budget monitoring, and clear escalation paths.
- Lead client onboarding workstreams,sequencing technology milestones and ensuring smooth transitions onto the companyStratus, Insights, Axiom and Vector platforms with fast time-to-value.
- Protect project scope, schedule, andquality, holding the line on commitments while accommodating reasonable changethrough structured change control.
Stakeholder Communication and Escalation
- Maintain a clear communication cadence withinternal teams and client stakeholders, including daily standups, weekly statusreports, and steering updates as appropriate to each engagement.
- Proactively escalate blockers to deliveryleads, architecture leadership, and the CTO, ensuring leadership has thecontext needed to act quickly.
- Translate technical detail into clearprogress narratives for both engineering teams and C-level stakeholders, actingas a trusted delivery adviser to the client.
- Influence senior stakeholders and guidecross-functional teams to consensus and decision, even when priorities shift ortimelines compress.
- Manage third-party vendor and softwaredependencies during projects, coordinating delivery contributions and holdingvendors accountable to agreed milestones.
Architecture and Technical Coordination
- Support architecture teams in scoping,planning, and executing deliverables, ensuring delivery plans reflect technicalreality and constraints.
- Partner with engineering, cloud, andcybersecurity functions to align technical design with delivery commitments andclient outcomes.
- Ensure technical dependencies are flaggedearly, owned end-to-end, and tracked through to resolution before they becomedelivery blockers.
- Contribute to estimation, sizing, andfeasibility assessments during pre-sales and contract scoping, helping shapeachievable delivery plans.
- Coordinate trading application rollouts,cloud migrations, and infrastructure modernization projects acrossheterogeneous client environments.
- Act as the bridge between engineering teamsand client or leadership stakeholders, translating complex technical situationsinto clear actions, timelines, and decisions.
Documentation and Governance
- Own documentation across project proposals,architecture inputs, status reports, and delivery roadmaps, treating eachartefact as a deliverable in its own right.
- Maintain Jira and Confluence as the singlesource of truth for project state, ensuring backlogs, boards, and status pagesare accurate and up to date.
- Drive consistent project governancepractices across the PMO function, including templates, status reportingstandards, and milestone gating criteria.
- Ensure post-project reviews are conducted,lessons learned are captured, and improvements are fed back into PMOmethodology and templates.
- Support audit, compliance, and DDQ requestswhere projects intersect with regulatory or LP-driven evidence needs, providingproject records as required.
Cross-Regional Collaboration
- Coordinate with delivery and engineeringteams in New York, London, Belgrade, Philippines and India in a follow-the-sunmodel, ensuring continuity across time zones for shared engagements.
- Align with Companyβs Client SuccessManagers, Client Technology Managers, SaaS Department Heads on shared clientengagements, integrating delivery plans into account strategy and commercialcommitments.
- Support new business initiatives bycontributing project planning input, sequencing, and risk views to proposals,renewals, and platform expansion conversations.
- Surface delivery risks, recurring issues,and resourcing constraints to delivery leadership and the CTO, so trade-offscan be made early and transparently.
- Partner with cross-regional teams on clientonboarding, ensuring delivery milestones are planned, tracked, and delivered ontime across time zones.
- Identify opportunities where additional Companyservices or platform capabilities could address a clientβs delivery needs, andhand these off clearly to the Client Technology Manager and commercial team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- 5+ years delivering ITprojects end-to-end, ideally across both infrastructure and applicationdomains.
- Proven ability tomanage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Experience deliveringin both Agile/Scrum and Waterfall environments, with the judgement to apply theright framework to each engagement.
- Background workingwith hedge funds, asset managers, private credit funds, or financial servicesclients is strongly preferred.
- Track record ofinfluencing senior stakeholders and guiding cross-functional teams to consensusand decision under pressure.
Technical Knowledge
- 3+ years of hands-onexperience with Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence) for project tracking anddocumentation.
- Familiarity withMicrosoft Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent planning tools for milestonetracking, dependency mapping, and resource forecasting.
- Familiarity with cloudplatforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Microsoft 365, sufficient tocoordinate technical teams credibly.
- Exposure toapplication migrations, cloud transitions, infrastructure modernization, anddata platform builds.
- Working knowledge ofOMS/PMS platforms (Company Axiom, Advent Geneva, Eze, SS&C, or similar),data warehouses, and trading systems is a plus, along with conversationalunderstanding of cybersecurity, networking, and identity fundamentals.
Licenses/Certifications
- Project managementcertifications preferred: PMP, PRINCE2, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM); CAPMor PRINCE2 Foundation also welcome at entry.
- Atlassiancertifications a plus: Jira Administrator, Confluence Administrator, orAtlassian Certified Professional.
- Cloud certifications aplus: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), AWS Cloud Practitioner, orequivalent.
- Degree in ComputerScience, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline, orequivalent professional experience.
