VP Product – Virtual Power Plant (d/f/m)

Flexa is building Europe's largest residential virtual power plant - and we're doing it fast. In under two years we've connected tens of thousands of homes and crossed 500 MW of controllable capacity, making us already Germany's largest residential VPP. We dispatch EVs, batteries and solar across a growing fleet, trading flexibility on real-time energy markets and creating unparalleled value for our customers.

We're now looking for a VP Product to own the product function end to end - the person who sets the vision, builds the team, and drives the product from where it is today to where it needs to be across new assets, customers, markets and countries. This is one of the key leadership roles at Flexa: you will lead the product vision, deepen our flexibility expertise across every revenue stream and shape the future of our product alongside our technology and business leaders.

• Salary Range: € 125.000 – 160.000 per year gross

• Language Requirement: C1 Level English; German is a plus

• Domain Expertise required: Energy (Flexibility, HEMS/VPP, Energy Markets) 

As VP Product, you will lead our product management and product analytics functions and own the product end to end.

This includes:

• Lead the product vision, strategy and roadmap for our VPP, in alignment with Flexa’s company goals

• Build, lead and grow our product management and product analytics teams of 10+ people, and continue building a high-performing product culture

• Partner as an equal with our technology and business leaders to shape company strategy and turn it into product outcomes

• Set the direction on product decisions, grounded in deep domain judgement: asset control (EV, heat pump, battery, PV), forecasting, optimisation, market participation, revenue stacking, (re)dispatch

• Drive product innovation beyond today's regulatory frame — anticipate and shape upcoming market designs and pioneer new flexibility revenue streams before they're standard

• Drive our product expansion into new countries, markets, asset classes and partners

• Expand the product analytics backbone and own the communication towards key stakeholders: the metrics, experiments and data products that show the potential and the actual performance of our VPP

• Champion the end-to-end customer experience for homeowners together with our partners

• Set and uphold the bar for how product is done at Flexa - discovery, prioritisation, delivery and measurement - ensuring we ship the right things, not just things fast

Mandatory Requirements

• Significant product management experience of +5 years, with a proven track record of building and launching complex, technical products

• Proven leadership experience: you have built, led and grown product teams (and ideally analytics teams) 

• Deep domain expertise in the flexibility space such as VPP, HEMS, home battery / storage or energy trading. If you are not from the energy space, please do not apply.

• Strong technical background: comfortable going deep with engineers and data scientists on optimisation, data and systems

• A strategic operator who owns outcomes end to end: equally strong at setting the vision and driving execution

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Experience in a fast-paced startup or scaleup environment

• Fluent in English (C1); German is a plus
