Job description

Looking for Filipino (Philippines-based) candidates

Job Role: BIM Technician

Compensation range: $1,200 - $1,800 AUD/month

Engagement type: Independent Contractor

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9.00 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies directly hire top 5% remote talent in the Philippines. You will be hired directly by the client, typically as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote, so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: Our client is a Sydney-based development and consulting business with operations across Australia and Dubai. They specialize in delivering high-quality design and development consultancy services with a strong focus on innovation in digital construction workflows.

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced BIM Technician with strong Archicad expertise to join a growing design and development team.

This is a newly created role reporting directly to the Design Director. You will be responsible for producing detailed 3D BIM models across a range of local and international projects, supporting the broader design and consultant team.

The organization is focused on advancing the use of BIM and 3D modelling as a core part of its design and delivery process—ensuring accurate coordination across architectural and engineering disciplines and improving constructability outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.

You will play a key role in developing and coordinating the Archicad models that integrate architectural design with structural, MEP, façade, etc to identify clashes, coordination issues, and buildability risks early in the design process. Critically, this process allows us to gain an intimate understanding of the broader consultant teams documentation, and will allow you to assist in detailed markups back to the consultants to align documentation with intent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models using Archicad
  • Support design coordination across architectural and engineering disciplines (Structure, MEP, Facade, Passive Fire, etc.)
  • Identify and resolve design clashes and coordination issues within BIM models
  • Produce accurate and well-structured documentation from BIM models
  • Collaborate closely with internal design teams to ensure model accuracy and constructability
  • Follow design briefs and project requirements with a high level of precision
  • Support project delivery by ensuring BIM models serve as a reliable “single source of truth”
  • Maintain model quality, consistency, and compliance with internal standards
  • Assist in improving BIM workflows and coordination processes where required
  • Manage documentation control and general project filing

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar BIM Technician / design drafting role
  • Strong experience in residential projects
  • Advanced proficiency in Archicad
  • Strong understanding of BIM coordination and multi-disciplinary integration
  • High attention to detail and methodical working approach
  • Ability to follow design briefs accurately with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a design coordination environment
  • Experience working in collaborative design teams

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
