You’ll receive full training on Harmonic, so while experience with the platform is a bonus, strong bookkeeping fundamentals, Australian accounting experience, and the ability to learn new systems quickly are more important.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable taking ownership of financial processes, communicating confidently with suppliers and customers, and proactively identifying discrepancies or issues.

  • Manage timesheets, leave, superannuation, and PAYG withholding
  • Maintain accurate employee records
  • Keep Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting up to date

Accounts Receivable & Collections

  • Allocate customer payments and maintain accurate debtor ledgers
  • Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up overdue payments
  • Contact trade customers, including builders and roofers, by phone and email
  • Build professional and friendly relationships while confidently managing collections

Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Complete regular bank reconciliations
  • Perform general ledger allocations
  • Support month-end close
  • Prepare aged debtor and creditor reports
  • Identify discrepancies or anomalies early
  • Suggest improvements to financial processes as the new system is implemented

Admin and Adhoc Tasks

Outside of accounts if requested you may be required to assist with General Administration tasks as part of office duties and assisting/ supporting other team members.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
  • Experience supporting Australian businesses
  • Hands-on experience with Australian payroll, superannuation, PAYG, and STP
  • Strong accounts payable and accounts receivable experience
  • Comfortable handling collections and customer follow-ups by phone
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Clear, professional communication suitable for conversations with Australian customers and suppliers
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good judgement and the ability to proactively identify and flag issues
  • Comfortable learning and adapting to new accounting or ERP systems
  • Reliable home office setup with stable internet and backup power

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Harmonic or similar ERP/manufacturing systems
  • Bookkeeping experience within roofing, construction, building supplies, or manufacturing
  • Experience with inventory-linked accounting, including purchase orders, goods receipting, and stock costing
  • Experience with Xero, MYOB, Job Pack, or Micronet

Systems & Security

You’ll work primarily within Harmonic and online banking platforms, with access expanding as trust and familiarity with the systems develop.

Strong security practices are required, including:

  • Two-factor authentication
  • VPN usage
  • Password manager
  • Secure handling of financial and employee information

What Success Looks Like

First 30 Days

  • Become familiar with Harmonic and the company’s finance processes
  • Accurately process supplier invoices and stock receipting
