Job description

The Asset Protection Division of Protective Life Corporation has been providing F&I solutions for the automotive industry since 1962. We proudly serve thousands of dealerships in the automotive, RV, powersports and marine industries by providing innovative F&I products, training, and technology.  

 

The Division Sales Director is responsible for the oversight and direction of a direct sales team to drive sales growth of our automotive product portfolio in the western region of the U.S. (include covered states). This includes leading a team in acquisition of new customer accounts and maintaining and developing existing automotive dealer relationships.    

 

Responsibilities 

 

  • Drive sales growth through developing your team to meet and exceed Protectives objectives year over year by acquiring new business and cultivating new customer relationships.  

  • Develop and execute strategy for same store sales revenue growth leading to the additional sale of products to existing clients. Gather customer insight and drive solutions to enhance the customer experience.   

  • Build and maintain relationships with senior level personnel within customer accounts.  

  • Mentor, coach, and develop a productive sale team building future leaders for future growth. 

  • Identify and cultivate what enhances success with a focus on employee development. 

  • Ensure profitable sales revenue growth through planning, execution and management of a direct sales team.   

  • Conducts financial reviews with executive ownership of all dealership groups within their region based on the customers preference. Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly. 

  • Utilize CRM to actively track and analyze sales leads and customer interactions to enhance business relationships with customers and drive sales growth.  

  • Work with your area Regional Sales Directors and Division Sales Directors by managing distribution channels through teamwork and “Doing the right thing”. Manage and Track customer projects with specific department from start to finish. Work with key departments and assisting with the formation of Protective profit participation programs.  

  • Drive our brand through attending state automotive events promoting Protectives product lines and services.  

  • Responsible for driving a winning culture.  

 

Knowledge, Skills, Attributes 

 

  • This position is in continuous contact with external and internal customers.  As an ambassador of our company and brand, this position requires strong presentation skills and communication skills.   

  • Must possess strong leadership abilities; including managing and motivating a team.  

  • Strong focus on customer service, which includes excellent listening skills, verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Must have a proven track record of developing sales results in an assigned territory.  

  • Possess an organized approach in problem solving ability. 

 

Requirements  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 

  • Prior sales management experience required. 

  • 5-7 years automotive industry experience preferred. 

  • Must have own vehicle with a good driving record. 

  • Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time by air or car.
