XTN-9FA6412 | MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

We are looking for a Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and planning of agricultural structures, specifically that of farm buildings and design for animal flow as required. This role focuses on converting initial sketches into detailed layout drawings and preparing works orders for manufacturing, all while collaborating with sales and production teams remotely.

Sketch Analysis:

• Review initial layout sketches provided by the sales team for accuracy and feasibility.
• Identify potential design issues and suggest improvements.

Layout Design:

• Create detailed layout drawings using AutoCAD based on approved sketches.
• Ensure compliance with structural and safety standards.

Approval Process:

• Submit layout drawings to the sales team for sign-off and customer confirmation.
• Incorporate feedback and finalize designs.

 Works Order Preparation:

• Convert approved drawings into detailed works orders, including:
• Operations to be performed
• Materials required
• Upload works orders into ERP or project management systems.

Remote Collaboration:

• Communicate effectively with sales and production teams via email, video calls, and shared platforms.
• Maintain accurate documentation and version control of drawings and orders.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Tekla and other design tools.
• Knowledge of the principles of design, sketching, CAD, Tekla, industrial materials and processes, manufacturing methods, and engineering.

• Incorporating the many disciplines in Mechanical Engineering – incl  Livestock handling, feeding and automated systems Animal welfare science and saftey
• Excellent communication and remote collaboration skills.
• Experience in agriculture or construction sectors is an advantage.
