On-site role - Working Hours/location:

- Standard Hours of work are 8:15 to 4:30 with a 1 hour lunch break Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the Province.

Description:
This is a unique role, that requires a physically fit individual to perform administrative tasks, general warehouse duties, be competent driving reach trucks, as well as experienced in safely using material handling equipment. Accuracy and attention to detail is critical to being successful in this role.

Reporting to the Distribution Supervisor, the Shipping and Inventory Coordinator is jointly responsible for the shipping and receiving of products including high-security and serialized materials, tracking shipments of orders, distribution of departmental mail, organization of stock, cyclic inventory counts and reconciliation of all materials, general warehouse duties, and answering client inquiries over the phone, e-mail or in person as required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accurately pick, pack and ship all orders within 24-48 hours of receipt or within established service level time frames demonstrating strong attention to detail
  • Physically fit - able to consistently lift boxes weighing 35lbs and able to be on feet lifting, bending reaching, following OHS safety guidelines and procedures
  • Safely operate a Reach Truck and other material handling equipment in a controlled Warehouse environment, using PPE
  • Ability to work independently as well as a strong team player

  • Able to problem solve and use sound judgement
  • Ability to use strong verbal and written communication skills when communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task; and adapt to changing workloads and priorities
  • Strong computer skills and ability to locate information in databases
  • Maintain and update 'Shipping Manager' database and MOVES daily for details about every shipment, strong attention to detail is required. (accurately recording way bill numbers, number of parcels, date shipped, serialized ranges and special instructions for every order)
  • Coordinate bulk distribution of orders as required
  • Receive stock, verify quantities received and provide packing slip and copies of the materials to the Client Relations and Operations Officer for receiving within 24 hours of receipt of product being delivered
  • Inventory management and warehouse organization
    Participate in the Warehouse OHS Joint Health and Safety Committee, and conduct warehouse safety inspections

Must-Haves:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Class 5 Drivers License 
  • 1+ year experience driving a Reach Truck. Counter balance forklift experience will not be considered
  • 1+ year experience in Shipping & Inventory Control in a warehouse setting including cyclic inventory count experience, and inventory reconciliation in a computer system
  • Physically fit - able to consistently lift boxes weighing 35lbs and able to be on feet lifting, bending reaching, following OHS safety guidelines and proceduresο»Ώ
Nice-to-Have's:
  • 1+ year experience preparing shipments in electronic tracking systems, entering in Waybills into an internet platform (eg Loomis, Purolator etc)
  • 1+ year experience with safe operation of material handling equipment such as Shrinkwrapper, Strapper, Power Pallet Jacks, Manual pallet jack etc.
  • 1+ year experience working with controlled serialized inventory or with products that have a high street value (ex. Cannabis, alcohol, lottery tickets, bus passes etc)
  • 1+ year experience with OHS Committees or member of OHS Committee, Assist with safety protocols, Understand working alone principles
  • 1+ year experience strong computer experience with an inventory management system within a warehouse setting (eg. GP Dynamics, and accurate Database entry)
  • First Aid AED Certification
  • Valid Reach truck training & certificationο»Ώο»Ώ
