Team Overview

The Business Process Operations team supports telecommunications carriers by managing voice and data-service orders between trading partners, ensuring requests are accurately formatted, processed, and completed in accordance with carrier requirements and industry standards. The team supports the full provisioning lifecycle, from order submission and error resolution through confirmation, activation, and completion, while partnering with onshore and offshore operations teams to provide reliable service to customers.

This is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.

Role Overview and Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex telecommunications provisioning issues, using documented procedures and industry expertise to evaluate problems, determine solutions, and drive issues through resolution.
  • Review, validate, and process wireline telecommunications orders, including Local Service Requests (LSRs), Local Number Portability (LNP) requests, and other voice and broadband service orders.
  • Support the Universal Order Connect (UOC) platform by reviewing order requests and responses, resolving order fallout, and ensuring information is accurately exchanged between carrier systems and trading partners.
  • Coordinate with customers, carriers, and internal Business Process Operations partners regarding order placement, escalations, system issues, and time-sensitive service needs.
  • Provide tier-two support to offshore operations teams by addressing non-standard orders, complex system issues, and requests that fall outside established processes.
  • Participate in daily operational discussions, help establish work priorities, and ensure urgent or high-impact orders are driven to completion.
  • Accurately maintain customer and internal ordering systems, daily carrier update trackers, and required operational documentation.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend updates to procedures, workflows, and documentation to improve efficiency, order accuracy, and the customer experience.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new associates and participate in cross-training activities to strengthen operational coverage across the team.
  • Deliver timely, accurate, and professional support while independently managing multiple priorities and escalating risks or issues when appropriate.

Required Knowledge and Experiences

  • 4+ years of experience in telecommunications provisioning, order management, customer support, IT administration, or a related telecommunications operations environment.
  • Experience processing or supporting wireline telecommunications orders, including Local Service Requests (LSRs), Local Number Portability (LNP), Access Service Requests (ASRs), Data Service Requests (DSRs), or broadband circuits.
  • Knowledge of carrier-to-carrier ordering processes, order fallout resolution, service activation, and telecommunications industry standards necessary to accurately evaluate and complete customer orders.
  • Experience supporting customers or trading partners in a telecommunications environment, including communicating about escalations, order status, and system-related issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently from documented procedures, organize competing priorities, meet deadlines, and escalate issues that fall outside established processes.

Required Technical Skills

  • Experience using telecommunications provisioning, order-management, or carrier-service systems.
  • Working knowledge of Local Service Requests (LSRs), Local Number Portability (LNP), Service Order Administration (SOA), directory listing, and CNAM (Calling Name) or caller ID processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, for tracking orders, maintaining documentation, and communicating operational updates.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a comparable customer relationship management or case-management platform.

We’re also looking for the preferred skills below. Whether you are proficient or could use some brushing up, we’re happy to support your career development and growth in:

  • Experience with Universal Order Connect (UOC), Heritage Neustar platforms, or comparable telecommunications order-management systems.
  • Familiarity with ENUM, E.164 numbering, Firm Order Confirmation (FOC), carrier trading-partner records, or related provisioning terminology.
  • Experience supporting business or government wireline customers rather than exclusively residential or wireless retail services.
  • Experience mentoring or training associates, supporting offshore operations teams, or contributing to cross-functional process improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving, professional communication, adaptability, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
